STOCKTON-ON-TEES BOROUGH COUNCIL
STOCKTON INTERNATIONAL RIVERSIDE FESTIVAL
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on 24th July 2025, the Highway Authority being satisfied that the restrictions are required because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which are not attributable to the works.
The effect of the Order, which came into effect on 24th July 2025, is to temporarily close various lengths of roads within the Borough, create temporary clearways on various lengths of roads and suspend several on street parking places, blue badge holder bays and hackney carriage stands, at such times as traffic management signs may be erected to notify highway users of the restrictions. The restrictions and roads affected are specified in the Order and plan which can be viewed on the Council’s website (Traffic Orders). It is expected that the restrictions will be between approximately 24th July and 6th August 2025.
The Order may continue in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. A press release on the festival will be produced to include temporary diversions during the Carnival. Access for emergency services will be maintained. Bus services will be affected, and temporary stops will be in use on Prince Regent Street and High Street, Stockton.
