Ushaw Moor, Temporary Road Closures Due To Carriageway Resurfacing Works
What is happening?
THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF DURHAM (B6302 BROOM LANE, C18 WHITEHOUSE LANE AND C18 STATION ROAD, USHAW MOOR) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025
The Council on 25/7/2025 made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on the following lengths of road. A 590 metre length of B6302 Broom Lane that extends west from Number 1 Durham Road to east of the cemetery access; a 45 metre length of C18 Whitehouse Lane, north of the crossroads to the junction with Flass Avenue and a 30 metre length of C18 Station Road, south of the crossroads to Number 7 Station Road, Ushaw Moor to enable carriageway resurfacing works to be undertaken. An alternative route will be available to vehicular traffic from the 1. The western side of the closure from B6302 westerly to Esh Winning, then north westerly and north through Cornsay Colliery, then east on C16 and C17 Wilks Hill through Quebec and Esh to Hill Top Langley Park, then south and east toward Bearpark to the northern side of the closure; or from Esh Winning from B6302 north via Broadgate Road onto C17 heading east toward Bearpark 2. The southern side of the closure, south and east on C18 through New Brancepeth and Alum Waters to A690 Langley Moor, north on A690 to Stonebridge then west on B6302 to the eastern side of the closure and 3. The northern side of the closure, north on C18 Whitehouse Lane, then east on C17 through Bearpark, south on A167 and south west on A690 to Stonebridge, then west on B6302 to the eastern side of the closure and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence from 7am on Monday 4/8/2025 and are anticipated to be completed 8 days, to around 7pm per day. On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
