What is happening?

THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF 
MIDDLESBROUGH (MIDDLESBROUGH NO.48)

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025

The Council of the Borough of Middlesbrough gives notice that it proposes the make an Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and any other enabling powers over an area of the highway described in the Schedule hereto and as shown by a solid Black line on the plan TTRO-2025-01 attached to the Order because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road. An alternative route will be available for use while the Order is in force being a route which runs from a point on the path at Grid Ref NZ 453432 / 513972 and runs in a northeasterly direction to its junction with Dixions Bank at Grid Ref NZ 453501 / 514019 and signed on site.

The roads will be closed from 11 th August 2025 for 24 weeks. The Order may be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport.

Access will be maintained for pedestrians, any person being an owner, lessee, tenant or occupier of those premises adjoining the said length(s) of road, any vehicle to be used for the purpose of delivering or collecting postal packages as defined in Section 87 of the Post Office Act 1953, the emergency services, any vehicle, if it cannot conveniently be used for such a purpose in any other road, to be used in connection with any of the following operations: building, industrial or demolition operation, removal of any obstruction to traffic, the maintenance, improvement or re-construction of the said sides of road or lengths of road, the laying, erection, alteration or repair in or in land adjacent to the said sides of road or lengths of road, of any sewer or main pipe or apparatus and the supply of gas, water or electricity or of any telegraphic apparatus as defined in Schedule 2 of the Telecommunications Act 1984, in the service of a local authority or a water authority pursuance of statutory powers or duties.

A copy of the draft Order and plan may be inspected free of charge at Marton Community Hub and Library, The Willows, Marton, Middlesbrough, TS7 8BL and a copy may also be viewed on the Council’s website www. middlesbrough.gov.uk.

SCHEDULE

The section of Footpath (A - B) which commences from a point on the Footpath (Middlesbrough No.48) (Point A) Grid Ref NZ 453432 / 513972 and proceeds in a generally north westerly direction for approximately 115 metres to its junction with Dixons Bank (Point B) Grid Ref NZ 453361 / 514063. A total distance of approximately 115 metres and is shown as a solid black line on the order plan.
