Somerset, Temporary Road Closures Due To Pole Replacement Works

What is happening?

Somerset Council Parish of Milverton Temporary Closure of Turnpike, Huntash Lane, Houndsmoor Lane and Rosebank Road

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, have made an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Turnpike - from the junction with Silver Street, eastwards for a distance of 94 metres; Huntash Lane - from the junction with Bum Hill, eastwards incorporating Houndsmoor Lane; and Rosebank Road - from the junction with Fore Street to the junction with Houndsmoor Lane. A total distance of 1653 metres. This Order will enable SJS Southwest to carry out pole replacement on behalf of National Grid.

The Order becomes effective on 31st July 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 4th August 2025 and last until 15th August 2025 between the hours of 08:00 -18:00 for a total of 12 days.
