A12 Trunk Road - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic For Carriageway Works
What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)(A) AND (7)
THE A12 TRUNK ROAD (JUNCTION 24 KELVEDON NORTH INTERCHANGE, ESSEX) SOUTHBOUND EXIT SLIP ROAD (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited(a) has made an Order on the A12 Trunk Road in the County of Essex to allow for local authority carriageway works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to take place over 5 nights (9pm – 5am), starting on, or after Monday 11 August 2025.
The effect of the Order will be to close the A12 southbound exit slip road at J24 Kelvedon North Interchange.
Traffic will be diverted to continue on the A12 southbound to J22 Coleman’s Interchange then via the B1389 to return on the A12 northbound to J23 Kelvedon South Interchange, then via the B1024 to continue their journey.
The closure (which will not apply to emergency service or traffic officer vehicles) and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
The Order will come into force on 4 August 2025 and may continue in force until the works detailed above have been completed, or for a maximum duration of eighteen months, whichever is the earlier.
