A66 Trunk Road - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic For Drainage Works
What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14
THE A66 TRUNK ROAD (SADBERGE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the A66 Trunk Road, in County Durham, to enable drainage works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start on Thursday 28 August 2025 for 1 night, or until completed.
The effect of the Order will be to close, at times during the works, between 8pm and 6am, the A66 westbound entry and exit slip roads at Sadberge, during which times a suitably signed alternative route will be available at all times.
Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the prohibition (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes).
The Order comes into force on 27 August 2025 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
