What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Blewbury, Bohams Road

Prohibition of Through Traffic

Date of Order: 11 August 2025

Coming into force: 18 August 2025

This Order is being introduced because of civils & excavation works which are anticipated to be completed 01 September 2025. This will operate between 09:30 and 15:30hrs.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the length of Bohams Road from the A417 London Road for 1280 metres south-westwards. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. There is no diversion route but residents access will be maintained.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T16209/AC)

Southmoor, Charney Road

Prohibition of Through Traffic and Waiting

Date of Order: 11 August 2025

Coming into force: 20 August 2025

This Order is being introduced because of resurfacing works which are anticipated to be completed 28 August 2025. Works will operate between 19:30 and 06:00hrs daily.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding or waiting in Charney Road between the A420 and Spring Hill. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via Spring Hill, Faringdon Road, A415, A420 and vice versa.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T16049/AC)

Postcombe, Box Tree Lane/Loveridge Road

Prohibition of Through Traffic

Date of Order: 30 July 2025

Coming into force: 29 August 2025

This Order is being introduced because of fibre cabling works which are anticipated to be completed 17 September 2025. This is a 24 hour road closure.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in part of Box Tree Lane and Loveridge Road to and from junction with Box Tree Lane to outside Spring Farm, Box Tree House. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic will be signed via the B4012 and B4009.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T15989/AC)

Longworth, Pinewoods Road

Prohibition of Through Traffic and Waiting

Date of Order: 11 August 2025

Coming into force: 20 August 2025

This Order is being introduced because of road resurfacing works which are anticipated to be completed 28 August 2025. Works will operate between 19:30 and 06:00hrs.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding or waiting in Pinewoods Road between the junction with A420 and junction with Hinton Road. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via Hinton Road, Appleton Road, A414, A420 and vice versa.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T16050/AC)

Stonor Parish, Road from Russells Water to Upper Maidensgrove

Prohibition of Through Traffic

Date of Order: 18 August 2025

Coming into force: 28 August 2025

This Order is being introduced because of excavation to install fibre cables which are anticipated to be completed 10 September 2025. This is a 24 hour road closure.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in that part of the road from upper Maidensgrove skirting Russells Water Common. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic will be signed locally.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T15925/AC)

Prohibition of Through Traffic

Date of Order: 28 July 2025

Coming into force: 4 August 2025

This Order is being introduced because of fibre cabling excavations which are anticipated to be completed 1 September 2025. This is a 24 hour road closure.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit through traffic proceeding in that road running through Russells Water. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic will be signed via the B481 and B480.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T15924/AC)

Abingdon, Boulter Drive

No Waiting and Cycle Lane Closure

Date of Order: 28 July 2024

Coming into force: 4 August 2025

This Order is being introduced because of LV cable connection work which are anticipated to be completed 12 August 2025.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit in part of Boulter Drive for vehicles on the cycles opposite Long Furlong Primary School. The cycle way will also be closed in this area. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T15892/AC)

Great Milton, Church Road

Prohibition of Through Traffic

Date of Order: 4 August 2025

Coming into force: 7 August 2025

This Order is being introduced for trenching for a new LV main cable works which are anticipated to take 2 weeks to complete.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit vehicles proceeding in that section of Church Road between The Old Vicarage and Brookbank. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. Traffic will be diverted via Church Road down to the A329 – turn left onto Thame Road – Church Road – The Green and vice-versa.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.

Coming into force: 7 August 2025

This Order is being introduced because of excavations for fibre cabling which are anticipated to take 1 week to complete.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit vehicles proceeding in that section of The Street between Swanwick Court & Ferry Road. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route will be via South Bank – B4009 – Ferry Road and vice-versa.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.

Prohibition of Through Traffic

Date of Order: 28 July 2025

Coming into force: 4 August 2025

This Order is being introduced because of drainage improvement works which are anticipated to be completed 1 September 2025.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit vehicles proceeding in that section of Harpsden Way between the junctions with Gillotts Lane and the junction with Sheephouse Lane. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic will be signed locally and is via Gillotts Lane – B481 – Blounts Court Road – Perseverance Hill – Chalk Hill – Sheephouse Lane – A4155 – Greys Road and vice-versa.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.

Wheatley, Keydale Road, OX33 1NS

Prohibition of Through Traffic

Date of Order: 28 July 2025

Coming into force: 4 August 2025

This Order is being introduced because of sewer repairs which are anticipated to take 3 weeks to complete.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit vehicles proceeding in that section of Keydale Road outside No.6. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. Traffic will be diverted via Keydale Rd – Kelly’s Rd – Acremead Rd – Old Rd and vice-versa.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – Section 14(1) and (7)

Notice of Temporary 10 mph Speed Limit Order

Southmoor and various parishes, A420

Date of Order: 11 August 2025

Coming into force: 20 August 2025

This Order is being introduced to facilitate use of convoy working during resurfacing works which are anticipated to be complete 28 August 2025. Works will operate between 19:30 and 06:00hrs.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in excess of 10mph along the A415 to junction with B4508 when the measures are in force. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. The relevant part of the A420 trunk Road (Watchfield to Little Coxwell and Littleworth to Botley) where 50MPH Speed Limit Order 1993 will be suspended for the duration of hours of the works in respect of the current 50mph speed limit.
