A66 Trunk Road - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic For Drainage Works
What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14
THE A66 TRUNK ROAD (BOATHOUSE LANE INTERCHANGE TO THORNABY ROAD INTERCHANGE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the A66 Trunk Road, in the County of Stockton-On-Tees, to enable horticulture and drainage works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start on Tuesday 26 August 2025 for 2 nights, or until completed, and will take place between 8pm and 6am.
The effect of the Notice will be to close the A66 westbound and eastbound exit and entry slip roads at Boathouse Lane Interchange and Thornaby Lane Interchange.
During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available.
Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the prohibition (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes).
The Order comes into force on 25 August 2025 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
