Bracknell Forest, Speed Limit Changes

BRACKNELL FOREST BOROUGH COUNCIL

(VARIOUS ROADS, BINFIELD, WARFIELD AND WINKFIELD) (RESTRICTED ROAD AND SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2025

Bracknell Forest Borough Council proposes has made an Order under Sections 82(2), 83(2) and 84(2) and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effects of the Order:

1. To introduce the new speed limits contained in Schedule 1 & 2.

2. To revoke the existing lengths of speed limit contained in Schedules 3 & 4.

   The Order was made on the 21st July 2025 and came into effect on the 25th July 2025.

   Order to be Consolidated into this Order and revoked:

   Bracknell Forest Borough Council (Various Roads, Binfield, Warfield and Winkfield) (Restricted Road and Speed Limit) Order 2017 No.2

   All existing speed limits contained in the Traffic Regulation Order entitled “Bracknell Forest Borough Council (Various Roads, Binfield, Warfield and Winkfield) (Restricted Road and Speed Limit) Order 2017 No.2” that are not mentioned above will remain in force and will be consolidated into this Order.

   Objections:

   Objections to the proposals, together with the grounds upon which they are made, should be sent in writing to Neil Mathews, Assistant Director – Highways & Transport, Bracknell Forest Council, Time Square, Market Street, Bracknell, Berkshire RG12 1JD or via e-mail highways.transport@bracknell-forest.gov.uk to be received by him no later than the 30th July 2025.

SCHEDULE 1

New 20mph Speed Limit Zone

B3017 Winkfield Row

From its junction with B3034 Forest Road to a point 370 metres north west of its junction with B3017 Chavey Down Road a distance of 750 metres.

SCHEDULE 2

New 40mph Speed Limit

B3017 Winkfield Row

From its junctions with B3022 Bracknell Road south-eastwards for a distance of 385 metres.

SCHEDULE 3

Revoke existing 20mph Speed Limit Zone

B3017 Winkfield Row

From its junction with B3034 Forest Road to a point 485 metres north west of its junction with B3017 Chavey Down Road a distance of 880 metres.

SCHEDULE 4

Revoke existing 40mph Speed Limit

B3017 Winkfield Row

From a point 485 metres north west of its junctions with Chavey Down Road to its junction with B3022 Bracknell Road a distance of 250 metres.

All distances are approximate and, where applicable, are taken from the centre of the stated junctions.
