What is happening?

THE OLDHAM - FOOTPATH 266 SADDLEWORTH GREENFIELD
TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2025
The Oldham Borough Council on 25th July 2025 made a Temporary Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which is to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along that part of Footpath 266 Saddleworth Greenfield from SE00766 03843 to SE00714 03730.
There is no official diversion as the closest termination point of Footpath 266 is not a highway.
The Order is to be made due to unsafe footbridge requiring emergency repair and will be in force for 6 months from 1st August 2025, or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
