TRAFFIC CALMING NOTICE -
PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF SPEED CUSHIONS
AT GREENWOOD ROAD, SUNDERLAND
Notice is hereby given that the Council of the City of Sunderland in exercise of its powers under Section 90A of the Highways Act 1980 and after consultation in accordance with Section 90C of the Highways Act 1980 proposes to construct speed cushions complying with the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 as traffic calming measures to reduce vehicle speeds along Greenwood Road, Sunderland. The current speed limit on the above length of road is 30mph. The road humps are in the form of two speed cushions which are raised sections of the carriageway designed to control vehicle speeds. The locations, nature and dimensions of the proposed Speed Cushions are as follows: Dimensions The speed cushions will have the following dimensions: Overall Width: 1800mm; Length: 3000mm; On/off Gradient: 1:8; Plateau Length: 1800mm; Plateau Width: 1200 mm; Max Height: 75mm. Locations (i) the west side Greenwood Road, from the centre of the carriageway at a point 22.1 metres north of the extended party property boundary of 58 & 60 Greenwood Road; (ii) the east side Greenwood Road, from the centre of the carriageway at a point 29.0 metres north of the extended party property boundary of 58 & 60 Greenwood Road.

TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 20xx
NOTICE is given that Sunderland City Council propose to make an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 122 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, by virtue of the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act. The effect of the proposed Order will introduce a no waiting at any time restriction on the west side of Greenwood Road from a point 9.8 metres north of the extended party property boundary of 58 & 60 Greenwood Road, for a distance of 5.0 metres in a northerly direction. Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order and the Road Hump Notice may be inspected during normal opening hours at City Hall, Plater Way, Sunderland SR1 3AA, until six weeks have elapsed from the date on which the Order is made or as the case may be, the Council decides not to proceed to make the Order.
