Prohibition of Vehicles and 20 mph speed restriction
Date of Order: 28 July 2025
Coming into force: 5 August 2025
This Order is being introduced because of resurfacing works which are anticipated to be completed on 13 August 2025.
The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle from proceeding or waiting and exceeding 20 mph in the section of the B4437 between Catsham Lane and Pudlicote Lane.
The existing 50mph speed limit will be suspended.
Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic will be via the B4437 – Leafield Road – Fairspear Road – Lower End – Leafield Road – B4022 – Nine Acres Lane – Thames Street – Pipers Hill – B4437. The relevant part of the ‘Oxfordshire County Council (Charlbury Area) (Speed Limits) (No.2) Order 2023’ in respect of the speed limit at that location will be temporarily suspended.
This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T15694/RAG)

Minster Lovell, Bridleway No.302/8/10 partial Closure
Date of Order: 11 August 2025
Coming into force: 14 August 2025
This Order follows on from an emergency closure on 24 July 2025 and is introduced because of repairs required to the bridleway surface. Subject to funding allocation and consent from Natural England, the reinstatement repairs are expected to be completed by February 2026.
The effect of the Order is to close temporary Bridleway 8 to horse riders and cyclists only. The route runs from the junction with Bridleway 7 to the A4095. Pedestrian access will remain. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for works purposes. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.
This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 6 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T16371/RAG)
