What is happening?

SANDWELL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Dudley Road, Rowley Regis)
(Temporary Service Road Closure) Order 2025
has made an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Dudley Road service road, which will be closed from the junction of Wendover Road to the dividing line of property Nos. 246/248. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Dudley Road (access only). The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 07/08/2025 effective from 05/08/2025 (24hr). Purpose – to facilitate access to repair a water hydrant by Onsite on behalf of South Staffs Water. For more information please contact Megan Gibbs of South Staffs Water on 01922 638282.

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Whitley Street, Wednesbury)
(Temporary One-Way Road Closure) and (Park Street, Wednesbury)
(Temporary Road Closure) Order 2025 has made an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Whitley Street, which will be closed one-way in a southerly direction from the dividing line of property Nos. 21/23 to the junction of Darlaston Road and Park Street, which will be closed at the junction of Whitley Street. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 22/08/2025 effective from 04/08/2025 (24hr). Purpose – to facilitate access for electrical service works by Doocey Group on behalf of National Grid Electricity Distribution.

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Heath Street, Smethwick)
(Temporary Road Closure) Order 2025
has made an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Heath Street, which will be closed from the eastern boundary of property No.266 to the eastern boundary of Aland Transport Ltd UK. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Winson Green Road, Dudley Road, Grove Lane, Cranford Street & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work for the initial closure is expected to be completed by 03/08/2025 effective from 02/08/2025 (8am - 6pm) and for a further closure the work is expected to be completed by 10/08/2025 effective from 09/08/2025 (8am - 6pm). The Borough Council of Sandwell (Silverthorne Lane & Sydney Road, Cradley Heath)
(Temporary Road Closure) Order 2025
has made an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Silverthorne Lane, which will be closed from the junction of Lower High Street to the northern boundary of property No.76. Sydney Road will also be closed from the junction of Lower High Street for approximately 20 metres. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. In addition there will be two-way temporary traffic signals in operation on Lower High Street at the junction of Silverthorne Lane and Sydney Road for the duration of the Silverthorne Lane and Sydney Road road closure. Traffic will be diverted via Lower High Street, St Anne’s Road, Compton Road & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work for the closure is expected to be completed by 22/08/2025 effective from 04/08/2025 (24hrs). The Borough Council of Sandwell (Farmer Way & Wooding Crescent, Wednesbury)
(Temporary One-Way Road Closure, Right Turn Ban & Left Turn Ban) Order 2025
has made an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding in an easterly direction along Farmer Way from the junction of Gospel Oak Road to the eastern boundary of property No.12 & Wooding Crescent in a southern direction from the junction of Farmer Way to the southern boundary of property No.7. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. A right turn ban will be in place on Gospel Oak Road at the junction of Farmer Way for the duration of the Farmer Way & Wooding Crescent one-way road closures. A left turn ban will be in place on Gospel Oak Road at the junction of Farmer Way for the duration of the Farmer Way & Wooding Crescent one-way road closures. Traffic will be diverted via Gospel Oak Road, Leabrook Road, Willingsworth Road & Charlotte Road. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work for the closure is expected to be completed by 18/08/2025 effective from 04/08/2025 (24hrs).
