Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 30 July 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this Notice.
This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 5 August 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period.
Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.
Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Alternative Route - D301 Henfold Lane, C59 Village Street, C53 Kingsland, C53 Trig Street, C53 Newdigate Road, A24 Beare Green Roundabout, A24 Horsham Road, C251 Spook Hill, D2837 Inholms Lane and D301 Blackbrook Road.
Schedule
1. that length of D300 Lodge Lane, South Holmwood which extends from its junction with Blackbrook Road eastwards for a distance of 30m;
2. that length of D300 Mill Road, South Holmwood which extends from its junction with Henfold Lane westwards for a distance of 30m;
3. that length of D301 Henfold Lane, South Holmwood which extends rom its junction with Lodge Lane southwards for a distance of 30m.
Coldharbour Lane (D289) Dorking
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 25 July 2025, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Coldharbour Lane (D289) Dorking as it extends from the access to the property known as “Harelands Barn” to a point 250 metres south of this access.
Alternative Route - Coldharbour Lane, Abinger Road, Leith Hill Road, Hollow Lane, A25 (Guildford Road, Coast Hill, Westcott Road, then either West Street and South Street (clockwise only) or Vincent Lane (anti-clockwise only)), Falkland Road and Coldharbour Lane, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to enable Openreach to facilitate communication works and associated works.
These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 15 August 2025 for 1 day, between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access to properties within the closure, as well as for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Headley Road (C55) Leatherhead
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 25 July 2025, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Headley Road (C55) Leatherhead as extends from its junction with The Drive (X15119) to a point 40 metres north-west of this junction.
Alternative Route - Clay Lane, Church Lane, Nut Ash Lane, B2030 (Tot Hill, Leech Lane, Mill Way and Reigate Road) A24 (By-Pass Road) and Headley Road, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to enable Openreach to facilitate duct works and associated works.
These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 11 August 2025 for 3 days, between the hours of 7.00am and 7.00pm.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for emergency services, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.
Grangemount (D2575) Ashtead
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 30 July 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Grangemount (D2575) Ashtead.
This Order is required to facilitate utility works for, or on behalf of Circet UK Ltd.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days, between the hours of 8am and 6pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 14 August 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.
There is no alternative route for this closure.
Woodplace Lane (D1153) Hooley
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 30 July 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of;
(a) Woodplace Lane (D1153) Hooley as extends from its junction with (X67879) Drive Road to its junction with (D1154) Park Lane; (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Woodplace Lane (D1153) Hooley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024” in its entirety.
Alternative Route: Netherne Drive, Blue Leaves Avenue, Rookery Mead, Netherne Drive, (A23) Brighton Road, (B276) Marlpit Lane, Reddown Road, Fairdene Road, Downs Road, and Woodplace Lane, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to carry out mains water utility works for, or on behalf of SES Water.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 4 days, between the hours of 9.30am and 5pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 15 August 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for emergency service vehicles, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
No sole access is affected by this closure.
Extension to the Surrey County Council Saxbys Lane (D409) Lingfield
Temporary Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Unloading Order 2024
“The Surrey County Council Saxbys Lane (D409) Lingfield Temporary Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Unloading Order 2024”, which was made under Section 14(1) and 15(8)(B) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, on the grounds that works were being or proposed to be executed on, or near, the above-mentioned road and came into operation on 08 August 2024 was due to expire on 08 August 2025 and which prohibited vehicles from waiting, loading, and unloading at any time, by vehicles on both sides of the carriageway in that length of Saxbys Lane from a point in line with the common boundary between property No.60 and No.62 Saxbys Lane to a point in line with the common boundary between property No.96 and No.98 Saxbys Lane has been extended by Surrey County Council until 07 February 2026.
This Temporary Order is required to facilitate safety works for, or on behalf of Walker Construction Ltd.
These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible within the additional 6-month period operation of this Temporary Traffic Order which commenced on 08 August 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary restriction will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed and only to such extent as indicated by those traffic signs.
Exemptions apply for vehicles when waiting because they are required by law to stop, are obliged to stop in order to prevent an accident or are prevented from proceeding because of circumstances outside the drivers control and in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or of a civil enforcement officer will apply when the temporary restrictions are in force.
(N.B. Disabled persons displaying a disabled blue badge will not be exempt from the temporary waiting restriction).
Crowhurst Road (D408) Lingfield
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 30 July 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Crowhurst Road (D408) Lingfield as extends from its junction with (D408) Bowerland Lane to its junction with (C89) Haxted Road.
Alternative Route: Lingfield Common Road, (B2029) Ray Lane, Tandridge Lane, Crowhurst Lane End, Crowhurst Lane, Crowhurst Village Road, Crowhurst Road, or this route in reverse.
This Order is to reinstate damaged brickwork to bridge parapet on Crowhurst Road for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council.
These works are anticipated to be carried over 2 weeks, during the 18-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 11 August 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.
Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Due to the nature of the works, there will be no vehicular access through the closures while works are in place, and all traffic, including emergency service vehicles, will be required to use the signed diversion route.
No sole access will be affected by this closure.
Downs Lane (D2555) Leatherhead
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Downs Lane (D2555) Leatherhead as extends from its junction with Dorking Road (B2450) to a point 200 metres south-east of this junction.
There is no alternative route for this closure.
This Order is required to enable Openreach to facilitate pole replacement and associated works.
These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 29 August 2025 for 1 day, between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for emergency services, residents, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.
Birch Avenue (D1426) and Wood Lane (D1426) Caterham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to (1) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of (a) Birch Avenue (D1426) Caterham as extends from its junction with (T10029) Townpath - Birch Avenue westwards for a distance of 30 metres;
Alternative Route - Birch Avenue; Heath Road; Homestead Road; and Birch Avenue;
and (b) Wood Lane (D1426) Caterham as extends from its junction with (D1426) Birch Avenue southwards for a distance of 15 metres.
Alternative Route - Wood Lane; and Heath Road;
and (2) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Birch Avenue (D1426) Caterham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024” insofar as it affects that length of road specified in paragraph (1)(a) above.
This 12-month Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 01 September 2025 is required to facilitate mains gas replacement and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of SGN within the length of road described in this notice.
These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible over two weeks between the hours of 8am and 4pm.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will operate only when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other traffic, including residents and the emergency services, will be required to use the signed diversion route.
No sole access will be affected by this closure.
Smalls Hill Road (C57) Leigh
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Smalls Hill Road (C57) Leigh as extends from its junction with (D331) Dean Oak Lane to its junction with Public Rights of Way Route 439 Leigh.
Alternative Route - Tapners Road; Bunce Common Road; Newdigate Road; Clayhill Road; Broad Lane; Blanks Lane; Stan Hill; Norwood Hill Road.
This 12-month Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 23 July 2025 is required to facilitate telegraph pole testing works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of BT Openreach within the length of road described in this notice.
These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible over one day between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will operate only when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for residents, the emergency services, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times via operatives on site. All other traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
Headley Road (C55) Leatherhead
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.3) 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to (1) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Headley Road (C55) Leatherhead as extends from (a) its junction with (B2033) Highlands Road and (B2033) Reigate Road to its junction with (A24) By-Pass Road; and (b) its northern and Southern junction with (A24) By-Pass Road to its junction with Rights of Way Route 55 Leatherhead.
Alternative Routes - (i) Reigate Road; and A24 By-Pass Road; and (ii) Tilley Lane; Church Lane; Leech Lane; Mill Way; Reigate Road; A24 By-Pass Road.
(2) Suspend (a) “The Surrey County Council Headley Road (C55) Leatherhead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025”; (b) “The Surrey County Council Headley Road (C55) Leatherhead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2025”; and (c) “The Surrey County Council C55 Headley Road and C55 Clay Lane, Leatherhead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025” insofar as they affect the lengths of road specified in paragraph (1) above.
This 12-month Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 01 September 2025 is required to facilitate mains gas replacement and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of SGN within the length of road described in this notice.
These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible over 9 weeks between the hours of 8am and 4.30pm. These works are anticipated to be carried out as rolling road closures in three phases.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will operate only when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of;
(a) Park Lane (D2628) Ashtead as extends from its junction with (D2628) Chalk Lane to its junction with (X15273) Howard Close; (b) the north westbound junction of Chalk Lane (D2628) Ashtead as extends from its junction with (D2628) Park Lane and for a distance of 50 metres along Chalk Lane.
Alternative Route: (1) Park Lane, Farm Lane, Headley Road, Tilley Lane, Clay Lane, Church Lane, (B2033) Tot Hill, (B2033) Leech Lane, (B2033) Mill Way, (B2033) Reigate Road, (A24) By-Pass Road, (A24) Leatherhead Road, (A24) The Street, and Park Lane, or this route in reverse; (2) Park Lane, and Oaken Coppice.
This Order is required to facilitate utility works for, or on behalf of BT Openreach.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 6 days, between the hours of 8am and 6pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 25 August 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via the banksmen on site, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.
Brook Road (D1266) Redhill
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Brook Road (D1266) Redhill.
Alternative Route: (A23) Brighton Road, (A23) Marketfield Way, (A25) Redstone Hill, Redstone Hollow, Philanthropic Road, and Hooley Lane.
This Order is required to facilitate mobile crane works for, or on behalf of Coppard Plant Hire Ltd.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 8am and 4pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 27 August 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access for emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained when safe to do so.
It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for residents and businesses and will be required to use the signed diversion route.
The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
Honeycrock Lane (C65) Salfords
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Honeycrock Lane (C65) Salfords as extends from its junction with (X65) Perrywood Business Park and for a distance of 150 metres in a north westerly direction along Honeycrock Lane.
Alternative Route: Honeycrock Lane, (A23) Brighton Road, (A23) Horley Road, Three Arch Road, Masons Bridge Road, and Honeycrock Lane, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate underground structural works for, or on behalf of BT Openreach.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 26 August 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.
A25 Reigate Road and A242 Croydon Road, Reigate
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic and Banned Turn Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to:-
1. Prohibit vehicles that are proceeding in a westerly direction on A25 Reigate Road, Reigate from turning right into A242 Croydon Road.
2. Prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of A242 Croydon Road, Reigate (southbound carriageway) that extends from its junction with D1217 Deering Road, to A25 Reigate Road, to its junction with D2860 St John’s Road.
This Traffic Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to carry out traffic signal refurbishment and/or repair and/or maintenance and/or highway works.
These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8am and 5pm on weekdays, extended weekday works 5pm to 9pm, and 8am and 3pm on Saturdays, within 3 weeks of the 18 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 25 August 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary banned turn and closure, which are anticipated to be required for 24 hours each day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for emergency services, pedestrians and, dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. Access for residents and businesses will be maintained at all times via the alternative route:-
Southbound - from Croydon Road - right onto Rushworth Road, left onto A217 London Road, onto A25 and bare left onto A25 Church Street and the end of diversion at the junction with Croydon Road.
Westbound - from A25 Reigate Road, continue on Church Street and bare right onto Reigate Town One Way System, at end of High Street bare right onto A25 London Road, then left onto A217 London Road, right onto Rushworth Road, to the end of the diversion.
Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.
D2801 Furlong Road, Westcott
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of D2801 Furlong Road, Westcott that extends from its junction with A25 Guildford Road, to its junction with D2860 St John’s Road.
This Traffic Order is required to enable Premier Drainage Solutions Limited to make new foul sewer mains and/or water mains installations and/or connections and/or maintenance works.
These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8am and 5pm, within 12 days of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 01 September 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure which is anticipated to be required for 24 hours each day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for emergency services, residents, businesses, pedestrians and, dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.
Alternative route: - St John’s Road, Springfield Road, Westcott Street and Guildford Road.
A264 Copthorne Road, Felbridge and D1448 Lake View Road, Felbridge
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to:-
(a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice; and (b) revoke part of “Surrey County Council Various in Tandridge Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.3) 2025” insofar as it relates to Copthorne Road only.
This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate capital safety defect works and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 19 August 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period.

2. the entire length of D1448 Lake View Road, Felbridge.
