Cumbria, Multiple Temporary Road Closures Due To Highway Works
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (B5345 EGREMONT ROAD, ST BEES U4279 NEAR ESKDALE AND C4016 NEAR WILTON) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:
B5345 Egremont Road, St Bees from its junction with the U4126, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 1.2km.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the B5345, Cop Lane, Clints Brow, A595 and Mirehouse Road.
Duration: From 4 August 2025 for approx. 18 days (Ref: TTRO/C/15392)
U4279 Near Eskdale from a point approx. 190m south west its junction with the C4026, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 430m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U4279, A595, C4025, C4030 and the C4026.
Duration: From 11 August 2025 for approx. 1 week (Ref: TTRO/C/15230)
C4016 Near Wilton from a point approx. 300m north east its junction with the U4040, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 70m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C4016, Cold Fell, C4004 and the A595.
Duration: From 22 September 2025 for approx. 2 days (Ref: TTRO/C/15098)
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 4 August 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
