What is happening?
THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS, BOROUGH OF SWALE)
(WAITING RESTRICTIONS AND STREET PARKING PLACES)
(CONSOLIDATION) (AMENDMENT No.19) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is hereby given that the KENT COUNTY COUNCIL proposes to make an Order under sections 1, 2, 32, 35, 36, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Traffic Management Act 2004, and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act.
The effect of the Order is:-
(a) In MARINE PARADE, Sheerness/Minster on Sea, to install double yellow lines on both sides of the road from the Ship On Shore car park to the existing double yellow lines on the junction with The Broadway, Minster on Sea
(b) In SHELLNESS ROAD, Leysdown, to install double yellow lines on both sides of the road from the existing seasonal double yellow lines (1st March to 31st October) near Leysdown Coastal Park, down to the junction adjacent to Muswell Manor Holiday Park
(c) In SHELLNESS ROAD, Leysdown, to replace the existing seasonal double yellow lines on the north side of the road from Leysdown Coastal Park to the junction of Park Avenue, and on the south side of the road from Leysdown Coastal Park to Leysdown Village Hall, with all year round double yellow lines.
A full statement of the Council’s reasons for making the proposed Order, a plan indicating the location and the effect and a copy of any other Orders which will be amended by the proposed Order may be examined on the consultation page of our website at www.swale.gov.uk, or at Swale House Council Offices, East Street, Sittingbourne, Kent ME10 3HT during office hours by appointment booked through Engineers@swale.gov.uk.
Representations supporting or objecting to the proposed Order (your objection must explain the impact on traffic in the locality to be valid) can be sent in writing to Engineers@swale.gov.uk or by post to the Engineering Team, Leisure & Technical Services, Council Offices, Swale House, East Street, Sittingbourne, Kent, ME10 3HT by 12 noon on Friday 29th August 2025.
