What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (B2112 Ditchling Road,
Wivelsfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Ditchling Road – from the junction with C6 Green Road to the junction with C655 Janes Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2112 Ditchling Road – B2112 Fox Hill (WSX) – A272 Fox Hill roundabout (WSX), Rocky Lane (WSX), Sandrocks roundabout (WSX), Rocky Lane (WSX), Highbank roundabout (WSX), Traunstein Way (WSX), Bolnore roundabout (WSX) – A273 Isaacs Lane (WSX), Fairplace Hill North roundabout (WSX), London Road (WSX), Fairplace Hill South roundabout (WSX) – B2036 London Road (WSX) – B2113 Queen Elizabeth Avenue(WSX), Civic Way roundabout (WSX), Station Road (WSX), Keymer Road (WSX), Keymer Road roundabout (WSX), Keymer Road (WSX), Folders Lane (WSX) – B2113 Folders Lane – B2112 Ditchling Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 18 August 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 20:00hrs to 04:00hrs between 18 and 20 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.
