What is happening?

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
A697 WOOPERTON JUNCTION TO WOOLER, WOOLER
(TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order to prohibit the speed by vehicular traffic from 60 MPH down to 30 MPH on that section of the A697 from its point with Wooler Berwick Borough Footpath 048 heading in a north easterly direction for a length of 1855 metres
The Order will be effective on the 25th August 2025 between 07:00 hours and 19:00 hours.
There is no alternative route available as this is a speed restriction only.

The Order has been requested by Northumberland County Council and is being made due to the likelihood of danger to the public whilst vehicular traffic is entering and exiting The Glendale Show Event which is scheduled to take place on the 25th August 2025.
