Bramford Lane, Variation To Waiting Restrictions

What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (BOROUGH OF IPSWICH) (STOPPING, WAITING AND LOADING PROHIBITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS AND ON-STREET PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2019 (BOROUGH OF IPSWICH) (BRAMFORD LANE) (5U4404) (WAITING RESTRICTIONS) (VARIATION NO.42) ORDER 2025

On 21/07/2025 Suffolk County Council made the above order under Sections 1, 2, 4 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which substitutes revision 1 of Map Tile GG118 in place of revision 0 of the same Map Tile and substitutes revision 2 of Map Tiles GF118 and GG119 in place of revision 1 of the same Map Tiles into the above-named 2019 order, as amended.

The effect of this is to introduce ‘No Waiting Monday to Friday 8am - 9.30am and 2.30pm - 4.30pm’ on Bramford Lane (5U4404) on its north-eastern side from the boundary of property numbers 315/317 Bramford Lane, for a distance of 431 metres in a north-west direction.

Exemptions to the waiting restrictions allow a vehicle to wait for so long as is necessary to board or alight or to load and unload for building, industrial or demolition works; for emergency services; for the maintenance of the road or its services and to fulfil statutory duties. The usual exemptions for Blue Badge holders will apply.

A copy of the order which comes into effect on 04/08/2025 and maps showing the roads affected may be seen with advance notice at the address below, 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday; also at Ipswich County Library, Northgate Street, Ipswich, IP1 3DE 9am - 6pm Monday; 9am - 7pm Tuesday; 9am - 6pm Wednesday and Thursday; 9am - 7pm Friday; 8.30am - 5pm Saturday; and 10am - 4pm Sunday.

If anyone wishes to question the validity of the order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, or on the grounds that any of the requirements of that Act or any instrument made under it have not been complied with in relation to the order, they may within six weeks of the date on which the order was made apply to the High Court for this purpose.
