The A13 GLA Road (Ripple Road and Thames Gateway, London Boroughs of Barking and Dagenham and Havering) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Transport for London hereby gives notice that it intends to make the above named Traffic Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose specified in paragraph 2. The effect of the Order is summarised in paragraph 3.
The purpose of the Order is to enable road safety works to take place at A13 Thames Gateway.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from entering, exiting or proceeding on:
(1) Thames Gateway/Ripple Road between its junctions with the unnamed on and off-slip roads connecting Thames Gateway/Ripple Road with the traffic system at the junctions of Choats Manor Way and A1306 Ripple Road hereafter referred to as Goresbrook Interchange and the unnamed on and off-slip roads connecting Thames Gateway to the roundabout junctions with Marsh Way;
(2) Thames Gateway between its junctions with the on and off-slip roads connecting Thames Gateway to the roundabout junctions with Marsh Way and the on and off-slip roads connecting Thames Gateway to the roundabout junctions with Ferry Lane;
(3) Thames Gateway between its junctions with the on and off-slip roads connecting Thames Gateway to the roundabout junctions with Ferry Lane and the on and off-slip roads connecting Thames Gateway with the roundabout junctions with A1306 New Road/New Road hereafter referred to as Wennington Interchange.
The Order will be effective at certain times 4th August 2025 and 4th September 2025 each night 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM (ceasing at 6:00 AM on 4th September) or when the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. The prohibition will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.
The prohibitions will not apply in respect of:
(1) any vehicle being used for the purposes of:
(a) works or service in pursuance of the Order; or
(2) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a person authorised by Transport for London.
At such times as the prohibition is in force an alternative route will be indicated by traffic signs via unnamed off-slip road, Ferry Lane roundabout junction, unnamed on-slip, Thames Gateway, unnamed off-slip road, Marsh Way roundabout junction, Marsh Way, New Road and A1306 Ripple Road to normal route of travel; Marsh Way Roundabout junction, Marsh Way, New Road, Roundabout junction with Bridge Road and A125 Rainham Road, Bridge Road, Roundabout junction with Broadway and Lamson Road and Ferry Lane to normal route of travel and in reverse; Ferry Lane, Lamson Road, Bridge Road, Roundabout junction with Broadway and New Road to normal route of travel.
