TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2025

Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984

Norfolk County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, hereby give notice that:

i) THEY PROPOSE TO MAKE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:

ANTINGHAM – Elderton Lane from 144m northwest of its junction with C290 Southrepps Road for 40m north-westwards to facilitate bridge inspection works between 22:00 and 06:00 from 4th to 5th August 2025 (may continue until 16th September 2025). Alternative route is via: Elderton Lane, C290 Southrepps Road, A149 Cromer Road. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

AYLSHAM – U51635 Buckenham Road from 30m west of its junction with Ethnie Gleaner Drive for 40m south-westwards to facilitate resurfacing works from 4th to 8th August 2025 (may continue until 19th September 2025). Alternative route is via: Ethnie Gleaner Drive, Defiance Way, Palmerston Way. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

FOULSHAM – C228 Guestwick Road from 55m north of its junction with Reepham Road for 60m northwards to facilitate pole testing works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 6th August 2025 (may continue until 17th September 2025). Alternative route is via: Guestwick Road, Mill Lane, Hindolveston Road, Market Hill, Reepham Road. The works promoter is BT.

GREAT WITCHINGHAM – U57152 Heath Lane from its junction with A1067 Fakenham Road to its junction with Church Farm Lane to facilitate new fibre network installation works from 4th to 15th August 2025 (may continue until 26th September 2025). Alternative route is via: Church Farm Lane, Springwell Lane, Hall Road, Porters Lane, A1067 Norwich Road/Fakenham Road (Little Witchingham, Great Witchingham). GREAT YARMOUTH – Albion Road from its junction with Apsley Road for 20m westwards to facilitate new electrical connection works from 5th to 8th August 2025 (may continue until 19th September 2025). HELLESDON AND HORSHAM ST FAITH – A140 Holt Road from its junction with A140 Cromer Road Roundabout to its junction with Amsterdam Way/Middletons Lane to facilitate CCTV drainage survey and jetting of the drainage network works between 20:00 and 06:00 from 4th to 5th August 2025 (may continue until 16th September 2025). HEVINGHAM – C281 Brick Kiln Road from its junction with Westgate Green for 100m eastwards to facilitate new duct installation works from 4th to 8th August 2025 (may continue until 19th September 2025). Alternative route is via: Brick Kiln Road, The Street, A140 Cromer Road, Shorththorn Road, B1149 Holt Road, Brick Kiln Road (Felthorpe, Hevingham, Stratton Strawless). The works promoter is CityFibre Metro Networks Ltd.

LINGWOOD AND BURLINGHAM – Chapel Road from its junction with Briar Close for 110m northwards to facilitate railway track works between 22:45 and 09:00 from 2nd to 3rd August 2025 (may continue until 14th September 2025). Alternative route is via: Chapel Road, Norwich Road, Station Road, School Road, Church Road, Lingwood Road, Heater Lane, Blofield Road. The works promoter is Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.

LUDHAM – U19126 Malthouse Lane from its junction with U19058 Fritton Road for 300m northwards to facilitate sewer root cutting and jetting works from 4th to 8th August 2025 (may continue until 19th September 2025). Alternative route is via: Fritton Road, Market Road, Long Lane, Malthouse Lane (Ludham, Potter Heigham, Catfield). The works promoter is Anglian Water.

MAUTBY

  1. C449 Thrigby Road from its junction with U6905 Manor Farm Track for 300m northwards; and

  2. U69467 Thrigby Road from its junction with U69466 Mill Road to its junction with C447 Mautby Lane to facilitate new fibre network installation works between 19:00 and 23:00 from 4th to 8th August 2025 (may continue until 19th September 2025).

    Alternative route is via: 1. Thrigby Road, A1064 Main Road, Mautby Lane, Thrigby Road; 2. Mill Road, Mautby Lane (Mautby, Filby). The works promoter is CityFibre Metro Networks Ltd.

    NB: these works are to be carried out under two phases. Only one phased closure will be in operation at any one time.

NEATISHEAD – U19073 School Road from its junction with C401 Horning Road for 190m south-eastwards to facilitate new chamber installation works for cabling from 4th to 15th August 2025 (may continue until 26th September 2025). Alternative route is via: School Lane, Norwich Road, Horning Road, Alder Lane (Birds Lane), Common Road, School Road (Horning, Neatishead). The works promoter is CityFibre Metro Networks Ltd.

PASTON – Paston Road from its junction with C420 Paston Road to its junction with C636 North Walsham Road to facilitate blockage clearing works between 20:00 and 06:00 from 4th to 8th August 2025 (may continue until 19th September 2025). Alternative route is via: Paston Road, B1159 Bacton Road, C419 Hall Farm Road, C418 Church Road, C419 Sandy Lane, C636 North Walsham Road (Witton, Paston, Bacton). The works promoter is BT.

REEPHAM – U57283 Orchard Lane from 265m north of its junction with The Moor for 60m northwards to facilitate pole testing works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 6th August 2025 (may continue until 17th September 2025). Alternative route is via: Orchard Lane, B1145 Cawston Road/Station Road, New Road. The works promoter is BT.

ROLLESBY – C457 Fleggburgh Road from its junction with U69337 Lawns Lane to its junction with C458 Repps Road to facilitate installation works for new duct, chamber and cabling from 4th to 17th August 2025 (may continue until 28th September 2025). Alternative route is via: Repps Road, B1152 Heath Road, Mill Lane, A149 High Road, Main Road, Fleggburgh Road. The works promoter is CityFibre.

SMALLBURGH – C245 Union Road from 80m southwest of its junction with U19167 Workhouse Road for 50m south-westwards to facilitate fire hydrant chamber, cover and frame works from 4th to 6th August 2025 (may continue until 17th September 2025). Alternative route is via: Union Road, Anchor Street, High Street, Sloley Road, Front Street, School Road, Ingham Road, A149 Yarmouth Road (Sloley, Dilham, Smallburgh, Worstead, Tunstead). STALHAM – U19024 The Green from its junction with C536 Yarmouth Road for 20m north-eastwards to facilitate frame, cover and chamber repair works from 4th to 6th August 2025 (may continue until 17th September 2025). THEMELTHORPE AND FOULSHAM – C199 The Street from 20m north of its junction with Kerdiston Road for 150m northwards to facilitate MSL Pumps drainage installation works from 4th to 15th August 2025 (may continue until 26th September 2025). Alternative route is via: The Street, Reepham Road, Market Hill, High Street, Station Road, Foxley Road, A1067 Fakenham Road, B1145 Norwich Road/Reepham Road/Bawdeswell Road, Reepham Road, The Street (Bawdeswell, Foxley, Bawdesham, Foulsham, Bintree, Themelthorpe). WOOD DALLING

  1. C267 Reepham Road from its junction with Church Lane for 150m eastwards and;

  2. U57115 Church Hill from its junction with Reepham Road for 30m northwards to facilitate patching works for surfacing failure on 4th August 2025 (may continue until 15th September 2025).

DEREHAM – C888 Elsing Green and C489 Main Road from its junction with C888 Norwich Road for 2.93km eastwards to facilitate stud and lining works from 6th to 26th August 2025 (may continue until 7th October 2025).     GREAT ELLINGHAM – B1077 Watton Road from its junction with U33137 Anchor Corner for 230m eastwards to facilitate carriageway repair works from 4th to 8th August 2025 (may continue until 19th September 2025).     LONG STRATTON – A140 Ipswich Road from 100m south of its junction with Parkers Lane for 500m northwards to facilitate construction works as part of the Long Stratton Bypass Scheme from 4th to 25th August 2025 (may continue until 25th February 2026).     1. C198 The Street from its junction with U35063 The Street for 154m westwards and;

    STOW BEDON AND BRECKLES – B111 Watton Road from its junction with A1075 Breckles to its junction with C138 Watton Road to facilitate stud replacement scheme from 5th to 7th August 2025 (may continue until 18th September 2025).     • Traffic over road 1) shall be temporarily subject to a one-way system (northbound) to allow vehicles to travel only in a northerly direction.

    • Traffic over road 2) shall be temporarily subject to a one-way system (southbound) to allow vehicles to travel only in a southerly direction from 8th to 18th August 2025 only whilst signs indicating restrictions are in place (may continue until 29th September 2025).

      NB: Please note the restrictions will be in place on weekends only and are expected during 8th to 11th August (there are contingency dates of 15th to 18th August 2025).

    THARSTON AND HAPTON – U76028 Parkes Lane/Picton Road/Church Road/U76124 Hall Lane from its junction with C497 Bungay Road to junction with C345 Forncett Road to facilitate safety reasons in connection with works for Long Stratton Bypass.

    • The road will be subject to the temporary imposition of a 7.5-tonne weight restriction from 8th to 18th August 2025 (may continue until 29th September 2025).

    TITTLESHALL – C123 Fakenham Road from its junction with U35111 High Street for 70m northwards to facilitate overhead poles and line replacement works between 08:00 and 18:00 on 4th August 2025 (may continue until 15th September 2025).

    WRETHAM – East Wretham Road from 1.1km west of its junction with Cricket Ground Road for 100m westwards to facilitate pole testing and tree cutting works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 4th August 2025 (may continue until 15th September 2025).

    The road will be temporarily subject to a 30mph speed restriction from 4th August to 4th November 2025 (may continue until 3rd February 2027).

    DOCKING – C88 Pound Lane from its junction with B1153 Station Road for 50m eastwards to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works from 6th to 13th August 2025 (may continue until 24th September 2025).

    DOWNHAM MARKET

    1. C492 Howdale Road from its junction with C885 Bexwell Road for 20m southwards; and

    SOUTH WOOTTON

    1. A148 Wootton Road from its junction with A1078 Low Road for 80m south westwards;

    2. A1078 Low Road from its junction with A148 Wootton Road for 40m westwards;

    3. A148 Grimston Road from its junction with A148 Wootton Road for 40m eastwards;

    4. U23555 Wootton Road from its junction with A148 Grimston Road for 140m south westwards;

    5. A148 Lynn Road from its junction with A1076 Gayton Road for 650m westwards;

    6. A1078 John Kennedy Road from its junction with Keeble Court for 30m northwards – to facilitate resurfacing works.

    • Roads 1–4 will be temporarily closed.

    • Roads 5–6 shall be temporarily subject to the suspension of the 7.5 tonne weight restriction from 2nd to 29th August 2025 only whilst signs indicate closures are in place (may continue until 28th February 2026).

    Alternative route: Wootton Road, Riverside, Lynn Road, Gaywood Road, Blackfriars Road, John Kennedy Road, Edward Benefer Way, Low Road.

    The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

    NB:

    • Closures are phased.

    • U23555 will be closed for the entire period, while other roads will only be closed between 22nd and 25th August 2025.

    WEST ACRE – C269 River Road from 45m south of its junction with U22083 Sandy Lane for 30m southwards to facilitate new water connection works from 4th to 6th August 2025 (may continue until 17th September 2025).

    Alternative route: River Road, Narford Road, Narford Lane, Lynn Road (Narford, West Acre, East Walton).

    BLOFIELD – Fox Lane from its junction with Yarmouth Way for 20m southwards to facilitate reinstatement gas works on defect from 31st July to 2nd August 2025 (may continue until 13th September 2025).

    Alternative route: Yarmouth Road, Danesbower Lane.

    The works promoter is Cadent Gas.

    BRISTON – C297 Reepham Road from 94m southeast of its junction with Thurning Road for 400m south eastwards to facilitate electrical works from 28th July to 1st August 2025 (may continue until 12th September 2025).

    Alternative route: C267 Wood Dalling Road, C331 Hindolveston Road, C331 Thurning Road, C331 The Street, C227 Melton Road, B1354 Briston Road/Fakenham Road/Norwich Road, C267 Holt Road, C267 Church Street/Hall Street/Norwich Road (Thurning, Hindolveston, Briston, Wood Dalling, Constable, Briston).

    The works promoter is UK Power Networks.

    CAWSTON – B1149 Holt Road from its junction with B1145 Aylsham Road for 2000m northwards to facilitate Hornsea 3 Offshore Windfarm construction traffic works.

    • The road will be temporarily subject to a 40mph speed restriction from 23rd July 2025 to 17th July 2026 (previously 18th to 22nd July 2025) (may continue until 17th January 2027).

      Alternative route: N/A.

    EAST RUSTON

    • U19083 High Hill Road from 70m southeast of its junction with U19083 Drabbs Lane for 30m south-eastwards to facilitate renew fire hydrant chamber, cover and frame from 29th to 31st July 2025 (may continue until 11th September 2025).

      Alternative route: Drabbs Lane, Chapel Road, Chequers Street, Back Road, High Hill Road.

      The works promoter is Anglian Water.

    • U19089 Fox Hill Road from its junction with C411 School Road for 10m northwards to facilitate patching works from 30th July to 1st August 2025 (may continue until 12th September 2025).

      Alternative route: School Road, Larkeys Lane, Mill Road, Foxhill Road.

      The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

    FELMINGHAM – B1145 North Walsham Road/Aylsham Road from its junction with U1904 Goulders Lane for 60m southwards and 515m north-eastwards to facilitate resurfacing works (Phase 2) between 07:00 and 19:00 from 30th July to 8th August 2025 only whilst signs indicating closures are in place (may continue until 19th September 2025).

    Alternative route: B1145 North Walsham Road/Aylsham Road/Greens Road, A149 Cromer Road, B1436 Roughton Road/Thorpe Market Road, A140 Norwich Road/Cromer Road/Aylsham Bypass, B1145 Banningham Road/North Walsham Road/Aylsham Road.

    FOULSHAM – C199 Guist Road from 185m east of its junction with Bexfield Drive for 50m eastwards to facilitate works to repair chamber cover frame of SV from 28th to 30th July 2025 (may continue until 10th September 2025).

    Alternative route: Guist Road, Market Hill, High Street, Station Road, Bintree Road, Foulsham Road, A1067 Fakenham Road/Norwich Road, Foulsham Road, Guist Road.

    GREAT YARMOUTH – Blackfriars Road from its junction with Victoria Road for 75m southwards to facilitate new electrical connection works.

    • Traffic over the road shall be temporarily prohibited to park, stop, load, and/or unload from 28th July to 1st August 2025 (may continue until 12th September 2025).

    HEVINGHAM – U57254 New Road from its junction with Westgate for 200m northwards to facilitate installation of a new fibre network from 28th July to 1st August 2025 (may continue until 12th September 2025).

    Alternative route: New Road, Church Lane, A140 Cromer Road, The Street, Halls Corner, Halls Corner Lane, Westgate.

    The works promoter is CityFibre Metro Networks.

    HORSTEAD WITH STANNINGHALL – C494 Buxton Road from 290m northwest of its junction with B1353 Old Church Road for 80m northwestwards to facilitate BT pole testing works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 31st July 2025 (may continue until 11th September 2025).

    Alternative route: B1354 Old Church Road, Buxton Road, Norwich Road, Brook Street, Lion Road, Cawston Road, Aylsham Road, Coltishall Road, Buxton Road.

    ITTERINGHAM – The Street from its junction with U142227 Wolterton Road for 150m north westwards to facilitate BT telegraph pole testing works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 29th July 2025 (may continue until 9th September 2025).

    Alternative route: C287 The Street/The Common/Oulton Road/Itteringham Road, C593 Blickling Road/Aylsham Road, B1149 Link Road Roundabout, C288 Matlaske Road/Saxthorpe Road, C287 Wood Road/Church Road (Matlaske, Little Barningham, Plumstead, Corpusty and Saxthorpe, Itteringham, Wickmere, Oulton).

    LINGWOOD AND BURLINGHAM – Post Office Road from its junction with Chapel Road for 150m eastwards to facilitate installation of a new fibre network from 28th July to 1st August 2025 (may continue until 12th September 2025).

    Alternative route: Chapel Road, Norwich Road, Station Road, Post Office Road.

    REEPHAM

    1. C266 Whitwell Road from its junction with Rudd Lane for 90m southwards, and

    2. Rudds Lane from its junction with Whitwell Road to its junction with Mill Road, and

    3. Mill Road from its junction with Whitwell Road for 280m southwards

      – to facilitate installation of a new fibre network from 28th July to 15th August 2025 (may continue until 26th September 2025).
