Carlisle, Temporary Road Closure due to Highway Works
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (U1192 BROADWATH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of the U1192, Broadwath, from a point approx. 300m north east of its junction with the U1191, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 30m.
A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of the U1192, C1026, A69, Warwick Bridge, Burnrigg Road and the U1191.

The Order will come into operation on 11 August 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 7 weeks and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
