South Lakeland, Multiple Roads, Speed Limit Amendments

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS, SOUTH LAKELAND AREA) (CONSOLIDATION AND PROVISION OF SPEED LIMITS) (ORDER 2024) VARIATION ORDER NO. 2 2025

1. Westmorland and Furness Council hereby give notice that on 22 July 2025 it made the above Order under Sections 82, 83 and 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) and all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police, in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act.

2. The Order will come into operation on 28 July 2025 and its effect will be to amend the speed limits to enhance highway safety and for preserving or improving the amenity of the area through which the roads run at the following locations:–

   (a) Lengths of Roads subject to 20mph speed limit:

   Allithwaite –

4. If you wish to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or any instrument made there under has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may within six weeks of 22 July 2025 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
