Somerset Council Parish of Monksilver Temporary Closure of Beech Tree Hill due to drainage works

What is happening?

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act
1984 as amended, propose to make an Order
prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along
Beech Tree Hill - from 193 metres north-east of
the junction with Woodford Road, north-
eastwards for a total distance of 20 metres. This
Order will enable Kier to carry out drainage works
on behalf of Somerset Highways. The Order becomes effective on 15th August
2025 and will remain in force for 18 months. The
works are expected to commence on 18th August
2025 and last until 21st August 2025 between the
hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 4 days.

a) because works are being or are proposed to
be executed on or near the road; or b) because
of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of
serious damage to the road, which is not
attributable to such works.
