What is happening?

South Lanarkshire Council 

Hamilton Road, Rutherglen Temporary Road Closure Order 2025 

On 18 July 2025 South Lanarkshire Council made the above-named Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended, which will make it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle on Hamilton Road, Rutherglen, between Wardlaw Drive and No.76. The Order will be in operation from 8.00am 11 August 2025 until 5.00pm 22 September 2025. 

Alternative routes 

Northbound Traffic - Stonelaw Road, Main Street, McCallum Avenue (vice versa) 

Southbound Traffic – Calderwood Road, Dryburgh Avenue, Stonelaw Road (vice versa)
