What is happening?

THE BOROUGH OF LUTON (STREET PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) (AMENDMENT NO.98) ORDER 2025. THE BOROUGH OF LUTON (OFF-STREET PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) (AMENDMENT NO.13) ORDER 2025. THE BOROUGH OF LUTON (CONTROLLED PARKING AREAS) (CONSOLIDATION) (AMENDMENT NO.38) ORDER 2025.

NOTICE is hereby given that Luton Borough Council, the Highway Authority for the said Borough, on 28th July 2025 made the above Orders under the relevant provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

The Orders will come into effect on 5th August 2025. The Orders will:
1. Introduce shared-use parking bays in operation Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 6:00pm, on Boyle Close, Charles Street, Clarendon Road, Cobden Street, Concorde Street, Crescent Rise, Edward Street, Frederick Street, Hartley Road, Havelock Road, High Town Road, Jubilee Street, Kingston Road, Midland Road, North Street, Reginald Street, St. Matthews Close, Taylor Street, Wenlock Street, William Street, and Winch Street. Current resident permit holders only parking restrictions will be revoked.
2. Extend the hours of operation for existing shared-use bays to 8:00am to 6:00pm, on Albion Road, Back Street, Brunswick Street, Burr Street, Charles Street, Clarendon Road, Cross Street, Dudley Street, Duke Street, Edward Street, Frederick Street, Hartley Road, Havelock Road, High Town Road, Jubilee Street, North Street, Oxen Road, Reginald Street, St. Matthews Close, Wenlock Street, William Street, and York Street.
3. Introduce resident only parking bays in operation Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 6:00pm, on Boyle Close, North Street, St. Matthews Close and Wenlock Street.
4. Correct an anomaly between off-street restrictions and the map based plan for Burr Street carpark with no change to markings and signage off-street.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers contained in the above Act or any requirement of that Act or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
