What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council (‘the Council’) has on 23 July 2025 made the Orders named below under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which when they come into operation on 28 July 2025 will make permanent the following:
BRIGHTON & HOVE (PROHIBITION OF MOTOR VEHICLES) (SCHOOLS STREETS) ORDER 2021 AMENDMENT ORDER NO.2 2025 (TRO-23A-2024)
Prohibition of Motor Vehicles Monday to Friday 8.15am to 9.15am and 2.45pm to 3.45pm – Term Time Only except for access in Hastings Road (Fairlight Primary), Church Street from St Nicholas Road eastwards and St Nicholas Road (St Paul’s Primary)
BRIGHTON & HOVE VARIOUS CONTROLLED PARKING ZONES CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2024 AMENDMENT ORDER NO.10 2025 (TRO-24A-2024)
Extension of existing double yellow lines on south side of Church Street
The shared permit & paid parking bay at the north end of the west side of Hastings Road will be extended to add one additional parking bay
BRIGHTON & HOVE (ST PAUL’S PRIMARY) (ONE-WAY) ORDER 2025 (TRO-24B-2024)
Introduce a one-way westbound on Church Street between Dyke Road and St Nicholas Road (with the exception of pedal cycles)
The changes described above were originally the subject of Experimental Traffic Orders that were advertised on 12 July 2024; (Prohibition of Motor Vehicles) (Fairlight Primary) Experimental Order 2024 (Ref: TRO-23-2024) and Brighton & Hove (Prohibition of Motor Vehicles) (St Paul’s Primary) Experimental Order 2024 (TRO-24-2024).
A copy of this Notice, the Orders as made and a statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Orders may be seen online at www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/current-tros.
Any person who wishes to question the validity of these Orders or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act, or that any requirements of the Act or of any instrument made under it have not been complied with may, within six weeks from the date on which these Orders were made, apply to the High Court for that purpose.
