Tendring, Temporary Road Closures due to Inspection and Scaffolding Works
What is happening?

(Brantham Road, Lawford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Brantham Road, Lawford in the District of Tendring, from a point approximately 95m north east of the junction with Dale Hall Roundabout for a distance of approximately 70m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th August 2025 for 1 night (23:00–06:00), or where stated on a valid permit (K1735LTN1-59-46-24082 – Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while level crossing inspection works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.
An alternative route is available for vehicles over 9’6” via Brantham Road, Dale Hall Roundabout, A137, A133, A1232, A12, A14, A137 and vice versa (vehicles under 9’6” under the bridge).
The Order will come into effect on 1st August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Market Street, Harwich) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Market Street, Harwich in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Church Street to its junction with Kings Head Street a distance of approximately 35m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 19th August 2025 for 15 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP02258095698 – Safer Roadworks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while scaffolding works are undertaken by Safer Roadworks Ltd.
An alternative route is available via Kings Head Street, The Quay, West Street, Church Lane and Church Street.
The Order will come into effect on 1st August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
