What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14 (1)

Temporary Road Closure

High Street, Whitton

(Reference 25/132)

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate water works, they intend to make a temporary Traffic Order, the effect of which will be to introduce a temporary prohibition of traffic in High Street, Whitton.

  2. Whilst the works take place no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed, wait or stand in High Street, Whitton, from the junction with Constance Road to a point 162 High Street Whitton.

  3. Whilst High Street, Hampton is closed, an alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Percy Road, Hospital Bridge Road, Nelson Road and vice versa.

  4. The order will come into effect on 04 August 2025. The works are anticipated to be in progress from 04 August to 08 August 2025. The order will remain in force for a period of 18 months, to allow for unexpected events and possible remedial works.

  5. The prohibitions apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by prescribed traffic signs.

  6. Nothing in the Order applies to:

    (a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works or any public service or utility vehicle;

    (b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer; or

    (c) any vehicle being used for Police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes.

  7. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 16A

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF RICHMOND UPON THAMES (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) (SPECIAL EVENTS) HIGH TIDE FESTIVAL)

ARRAGON ROAD AND CHURCH STREET, TWICKENHAM

(Reference 25/131)

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames hereby gives notice that on 22 July 2025 they made the above-named Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

  2. The general effect of the Order is to facilitate the holding of a music festival in Twickenham.

  3. From 9am until 11.59pm on Sunday 27 July 2025,

    (a) no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in Arragon Road between its junctions with York Street and Church Street.

    (b) no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in Church Street between its junctions with Water Lane and Arragon Road.

    (c) Riverside, Twickenham open from 9am to 10am.

    (d) Church Lane Car Park closed all day.

    (e) York House Car Park closed all day.

  4. A signed diversion route for traffic affected by the closures will be available in adjacent streets.

  5. Nothing in the Order will apply to:

    (a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a Police Constable, Police Community Support Officer or a Civil Enforcement Officer;

    (b) any vehicle being used by a statutory undertaker, where it is necessary to respond to an emergency, for that vehicle to have access to the part of the street under restriction.

  6. The prohibitions come into force only in times which will apply only during such times and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

  7. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Temporary Cycle Lane Suspension

Castelnau, Barnes

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate water connection works, they have made a temporary Traffic Order, the effect of which will be to introduce a temporary prohibition of traffic in Castelnau, Barnes.

  2. Whilst the works take place, the cycle lane in Castelnau outside numbers 16-28 Castelnau shall be suspended.

  3. The order will come into effect on 30 July 2025. The works are anticipated to be in progress at all times from 30 July to 01 August 2025. The order will remain in force for a period of 18 months, to allow for unexpected events and possible remedial works.

  4. The prohibitions apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by prescribed traffic signs.

  5. Nothing in the Order applies to:

    (a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works or any public service or utility vehicle;

    (b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer; or

    (c) any vehicle being used for Police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes.

  6. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Temporary Road Closure and Temporary Parking Restrictions

Albert Road, and Park Road Hampton

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate water connection works, they have made a temporary Traffic Order, the effect of which will be to introduce a temporary prohibition of traffic in Albert Road, and Park Road Hampton.

  2. Whilst the works take place no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to enter or exit Albert Road, at the junction with Park Road.

  3. The bays outside and opposite numbers 12-18 Park Road shall also be suspended.

  4. The order will come into effect on 26 July 2025. The works are anticipated to be in progress over two consecutive weekends 26 to 27 July 2025 and 02 to 03 August 2025. The order will remain in force for a period of 18 months, to allow for unexpected events and possible remedial works.

  5. An alternative route for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via Albert Road, Burtons Road, High Street and Park Road and vice versa.

  6. The prohibitions apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by prescribed traffic signs.

  7. Nothing in the Order applies to:

    (a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works or any public service or utility vehicle;

    (b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer; or

    (c) any vehicle being used for Police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes.

  8. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

BROOK ROAD, TWICKENHAM

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, with the agreement of Transport for London, on 22 July 2025 made the above Orders under sections 6 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. The Orders will come into force on 24 July 2025.

  2. The general effect of the Orders is:

    (a) no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in Brook Road, between its junctions with St Margarets Grove and the A316 Chertsey Road other than in a direction from south to north;

    (b) no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to turn right from Brook Road into the A316 Chertsey Road;

    (c) no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to enter Brook Road at its junction with the A316 Chertsey Road;

    (d) to extend the double yellow lines at the junction of St Margarets Grove by 1 metre into Brook Road.

  3. Copies of particulars giving further details of the scheme:

    (a) can be inspected, quoting Reference 24/013, at the Civic Centre (Central Reception), ground floor, 44 York Street, Twickenham between 8.15am and 5pm on Mondays to Fridays, except for Bank and other public holidays; and

    (b) may be viewed on the Council’s web-site at http://www.richmond.gov.uk/public_notices.

  4. If any person wishes to question the validity of the Orders or of any of their provisions on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of the said Act of 1984 or of any instrument made under the said Act of 1984 has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to water connection works, they have made a temporary Traffic Order, the effect of which will be to introduce a temporary prohibition of traffic in North Lane, Teddington.

  2. Whilst the works take place no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed, wait or stand in North Lane, from the junction with North Place to outside number 47 North Lane.

  3. Whilst North Lane, Teddington is closed, an alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via North Lane, Broad Street, Park Road, Park Lane and vice versa.

  4. The order will come into effect on 29 July 2025. The works are anticipated to be in progress from 29 July 2025 to 01 August 2025. The order will remain in force for a period of 18 months, to allow for unexpected events and possible remedial works.

  5. The prohibitions apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by prescribed traffic signs.

  6. Nothing in the Order applies to:

    (a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works or any public service or utility vehicle;

    (b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer; or

    (c) any vehicle being used for Police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes.
