Peel Hall Road and St Clements Road - Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic

What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL 

TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED) 

Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):

ORDER NO. MCC144543184: The City of Manchester (Peel Hall Road, Sharston Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Peel Hall Road. 

The alternative routes for traffic will be: Crossacres Road, Longwood Road, Peel Hall Road vice versa. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate carriageway resurfacing. 

It is expected that the works will be in progress from the 11th August 2025 to the 29th August 2025. The order shall come into operation on the 11th August 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.

ORDER NO. MCC144545313: The City of Manchester (St Clements Road, Chorlton Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. 

The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on St Clements Road. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Chorlton Green, Brookburn Road, Ivygreen Road, Kingshill Road, Edge Lane, St Clements Road vice versa. 

The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate long sided disconnection of old lead supply and replace with new water connection. It is expected that the works will be in progress from the 11th August 2025 to the 13th August 2025. The order shall come into operation on 11th August 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
