Hertfordshire – Multiple Temporary Road Closures and Restrictions due to Works

What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF GRACE WAY, STEVENAGE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the southbound carriageway of Grace Way, Stevenage from its junction with Sish Lane south eastwards and southwards to its junction with the A1155 Fairlands Way roundabout, a distance of approximately 260m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Grace Way, A1072 Martins Way and A1155 (Verity Way/Fairlands Way).

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 8 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF FISHERS GREEN ROAD, STEVENAGE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Fishers Green Road, Stevenage from its junction with Bournemouth Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 200m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Fishers Green Road, Fishers Green, Clovelly Way, A1072 Gunnels Wood Road, A602 (Hitchin Road/Lytton Way/High Street/James Way/Lytton Way), Julians Road and Fishers Green Road

or via Fishers Green Road, Julians Road, A602 (Lytton Way/Hitchin Road), A1072 James Road, Clovelly Way, Fishers Green and Fishers Green Road.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 11 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HELLARDS ROAD, STEVENAGE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Hellards Road, Stevenage from a point 50m north west of its junction with Haycroft Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 27m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Hellards Road, Haycroft Road, Letchmore Road and Hellards Road.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 11 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WOODLAND WAY, BALDOCK) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Woodland Way, Baldock from its junction with London Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via London Road, Chiltern Road and Woodland Way.

The Order is needed because the replacement of existing gas mains is proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 11 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE CYCLE TRACK SITUATED ON THE SOUTH WEST SIDE OF A1072 GUNNELS WOOD ROAD, STEVENAGE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedal cycles from using the cycle track situated on the south west side of A1072 Gunnels Wood Road, Stevenage from a point 295m south east of its junction with Bessemer Drive south eastwards for a distance of approximately 66m (“the Cycle Track”).

Pedal Cyclists will need to dismount and use the adjacent footway.

The Order is needed because utility repair works are proposed to be executed on or near the Cycle Track.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 11 August 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Cycle Track.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE CYCLE TRACK SITUATED ON THE NORTH EAST SIDE OF HERTFORD ROAD, STEVENAGE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedal cycles from using the cycle track situated on the north east side of Hertford Road, Stevenage from its junction with Roebuck Gate north westwards for a distance of approximately 21m (“the Cycle Track”).

Pedal Cyclists will need to dismount and use the adjacent footway.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Cycle Track.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 12 August 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Cycle Track.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN STEVENAGE) ORDER NO.2 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”) and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:–

1. that length of A602 Six Hills Way/A602 Lytton Way roundabout, Stevenage from its junction with A1070 Six Hills Way clockwise for a distance of approximately 309m.

An alternative route will be via A1070 Six Hills Way, A1155 (Fairlands Way/St Georges Way) and A602 Six Hills Way.

2. that length of A1070 Six Hills Way, Stevenage from its junction with the A602 Six Hills Way/A602 Lytton Way roundabout south westwards to its junction with the A1072 Gunnels Wood Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 497m.

An alternative route will be via A602 Six Hills Way, A1155 (St Georges Way/Fairlands Way) and A1072 Gunnels Wood Road.

3. that length of A602 Six Hills Way, Stevenage from its junction with the A602 Six Hills Way/A602 Lytton Way roundabout south eastwards, south westwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 390m.

An alternative route will be via A602 (Six Hills Way/Monkswood Way), B197 Monkswood Way and B197 London Road or via A1070 Six Hills Way, A1072 Gunnels Wood Road, A602 Broadhall Way and B197 (Monkswood Way/London Road).

4. that length of A602 Lytton Way, Stevenage from its junction with the A602 Six Hills Way/B197 London Road roundabout north westwards to its junction with the A1155 Fairlands Way roundabout, a distance of approximately 674m.

An alternative route will be via A1070 Six Hills Way, A1072 Gunnels Wood Road and A1155 Fairlands Way

or via A602 Six Hills Way and A1155 (St Georges Way/Fairlands Way).

5. that length of A602 Six Hills Way, Stevenage from its junction with the A1070 Six Hills Way/A602 Lytton Way roundabout eastwards to its junction with the A1155 St Georges Way/A602 Monkswood Way roundabout, a distance of approximately 226m.

An alternative route will be via A1070 Six Hills Way, A1072 Gunnels Wood Road and A1155 (Fairlands Way/St Georges Way).

6. that length of Danestrete, Stevenage from its junction with the A602 Six Hills Way/A602 Lytton Way roundabout north eastwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 55m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to all properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible during the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 11 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF DEARDS END LANE, KNEBWORTH) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Deards End Lane, Knebworth from its junction with Stobarts Close north eastwards for a distance of approximately 185m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Deards End Lane, Park Lane, Station Approach, Station Road, B197 Stevenage Road and back.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 29 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE CYCLE TRACK SITUATED BENEATH THE VALLEY WAY/BROADWATER ROAD ROUNDABOUT, STEVENAGE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedal cycles from using the cycle track situated beneath the Valley Way/Broadwater Road roundabout, Stevenage from a point 35m north west of its junction with the A602 Broadhall Way roundabout south eastwards to its junction with Broadwater Crescent, a distance of approximately 23m (“the Cycle Track”).

Pedal Cyclists will need to dismount and use the adjacent footway.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Cycle Track.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 28 July 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Cycle Track.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF A507 CLOTHALL ROAD AND THE B656 SOUTHBOUND SLIP ROAD LEADING ONTO A507 CLOTHALL ROAD, BALDOCK) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:–

1. that length of A507 Clothall Road, Baldock from its junction with B656 Royston Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m.

An alternative route will be via B656 Whitehorse Street, B197 High Street, South Road and A507 Clothall Road.

2. the B656 southbound slip road leading onto A507 Clothall Road, Baldock from its junction with B656 Royston Road south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with A507 Clothall Road, a distance of approximately 41m.

An alternative route will be via B656 (Royston Road/Whitehorse Street), B197 High Street, South Road and A507 Clothall Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 28 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN BURYMEAD, STEVENAGE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using that length of Burymead, Stevenage from a point in line with the western boundary of No.7 Burymead north eastwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 264m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Burymead.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 28 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF SWANGLEYS LANE AND OLD LANE, KNEBWORTH) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:–

1. that length of Swangleys Lane, Knebworth from a point in line with the eastern boundary of No.13 Swangleys Lane south eastwards for a distance of approximately 60m.

An alternative route will be via Swangleys Lane, B197 London Road, New Road, Hollybush Lane, Baines Lane and Swangleys Lane.

2. that length of Old Lane, Knebworth from its junction with Swangleys Lane north eastwards for a distance of approximately 22m.

An alternative route will be via Swangleys Lane, B197 London Road, Watton Road and Old Lane.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 28 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.
