What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF

THE C557 RICHER ROAD, BADWELL ASH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C557 Richer Road, Badwell Ash from 50 metres south from the junction with Dovedale Close for 250 metres southbound to facilitate a new sewer connection. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Hunston Road, Westley Way, Ashfield Hill and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 04/08/2025 - 22/08/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF

THE U3624 SANDY LANE, WOODBRIDGE

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U3624 Sandy Lane, Woodbridge from the junction with California to no. 29 to facilitate providing a pole bend. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Sandy Lane, California, Ipswich Road, Top Street and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 04/08/2025 - 06/08/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF

THE A1101 FORNHAM ROAD, MILDENHALL ROAD

AND B1106 THETFORD ROAD, BURY ST EDMUNDS

AND FORNHAM ST MARTIN

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads

? A1101 Fornham Road, Bury St Edmunds from Barton Hill to Station Hill.

? A1101 Mildenhall Road, Bury St Edmunds from Fornham Road to Friary Meadow.

? B1106 Thetford Road, Fornham St Martin from the junction with Fornham Road to the junction with Barton Hill.

This is to facilitate drainage and CCTV surveys. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be

? the A1101 Out Northgate, the A143 Compiegne Way, the A134 Fornham St Martin, the A11 Southbound from the Parish boundary to London Road, the A1101 Mildenhall Road, the A1101 The Street, the A1101 Bury Road, the A1101 Hengrave Road, the A1101 Bury Road, the A1101 Mildenhall Road and no vice versa.

? the A1101 Mildenhall Road, the A1101 Bury Road, the A1101 Hengrave Road, the A1101 Bury Road, the A1101 The Street, the A1101 Mildenhall Road, the A11 Mildenhall northbound to London Road and southbound to London Road exit, the C633 London Road, the A134 Fornham St Martin, the A143 Compiegne Way, the A1101 Out Northgate and no vice versa.

? the B1106 Thetford Road, the A134 Fornham St Martin and vice versa.

? the U2501 Tollgate Lane, the U2500 Beeston Way, the U5517 Western Way, the A1302 Newmarket Road, the A1302 Out Risby Gate, the A1302 Tayfen Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 04/08/2025 - 08/08/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U5501 OLIVER ROAD AND C660 WESTLEY ROAD, BURY ST EDMUNDS

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads in the following phases:

  1. U5501 Oliver Road, Bury St Edmunds from the junction with Ridley Road for 30 metres northbound

  2. C660 Westley Road, Bury St Edmunds from the junction with Flemmyng Road for 170 metres westbound.

This is to facilitate a gas mains replacement. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be:

  1. Ridley Road, Oliver Road and vice versa

  2. West Road, Hospital Road, Petticoat Lane, the A143, Westley Lane and vice versa.

It is intended that the closures will operate from:

  1. 04/08/2025 – 11/08/2025

  2. 11/08/2025 – 25/09/2025.

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U3415 UFFORD ROAD, BREDFIELD

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U3415 Ufford Road, Bredfield from the junction with Woodbridge Road for 60 metres eastbound to facilitate electrical pole works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the A12, Road C309 from A12, Woodbridge Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 04/08/2025 from 9:30am – 3:30pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U4937 BROOMHILL LANE, WOOLPIT

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U4937 Broomhill Lane, Woolpit from Wyndridge for 30 metres southbound to facilitate a water meter exchange. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF

THE U8401 NEDGING ROAD, NEDGING WITH NAUGHTON

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U8401 Nedging Road, Nedging with Naughton in the following phases:

  1. From Willow Cottage to Ivy House

  2. From Ivy House to Chilton House.

This is to facilitate the installation of a new water connection and carry out maintenance of overhead line and pole. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Nedging Road, the B1078, the B1115 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closures will operate from:

  1. 04/08/2025 – 05/08/2025 from 9.30am – 4.30pm

  2. 06/08/2025 from 7am – 11.59pm.

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

THE C369 OLD BARRACK ROAD AND

THE U3625 DRYBRIDGE HILL, WOODBRIDGE

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads in the following phases:

  1. C369 Old Barrack Road, Woodbridge from no. 40 to the junction with Kings Close

  2. U3625 Drybridge Hill, Woodbridge from the junction with Kings Close to no. 52 Drybridge Hill.

This is to facilitate a gas main replacement. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be:

? B1438, Quay Street, Church Street, Seckford Street, Theatre Street, the B1079, the B1438 with no vice versa

? B1438, Quay Street, Seckford Street, Theatre Street, the B1079, the B1438, the B1079, the A12, the B1438 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closures will operate from:

  1. 05/08/2025 – 01/09/2025

  2. 18/08/2025 – 01/09/2025.

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

THE C417 HYAMS LANE, HOLBROOK

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C417 Hyams Lane, Holbrook from the junction with the B1080 to Holly House to facilitate stop tap replacements. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the B1080, the A137, Ipswich Road, Coxhall Road, Hyams Lane and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 04/08/2025 – 05/08/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND 30 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION ON PART OF

THE C473 HIGHAM ROAD, RAYDON

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads in the following phases:

  1. the C473 Higham Road, Raydon from Waterworks Cottages for 120 metres southbound

  2. the C473 Higham Road, Raydon from Waterworks Cottages to 100 metres north of the junction with Wades Lane

This is to facilitate the construction of access to a water scheme. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Higham Road, Lower Raydon, Higham Hill, Hadleigh Road, the B1068, Sandpits Lane, Bacons Green, the B1070 and vice versa.

From 10/08/2025 – 14/08/2025 there will be a temporary 30 mph speed restriction on the C473 Higham Road, Raydon from Ponds Farm to the junction with the B1070 to slow traffic whilst temporary access is in use.

It is intended that the closures will operate from:

  1. 04/08/2025 – 08/08/2025

  2. 09/08/2025 – 10/08/2025

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF

THE C441 MAIN ROAD, HEMINGSTONE

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C441 Main Road, Hemingstone from the junction with Lower Road for 70 metres southbound to facilitate the installation of a new electricity supply. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the B1078 Lower Road, the B1078 Ashbocking Road, the B1078 Hemingstone Road, the B1078 Hare and Hounds Corner, Clay Lane and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 04/08/2025 – 08/08/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
