Syd Brook Lane - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic
What is happening?

(SYD BROOK LANE, MAWDESLEY, WEST LANCASHIRE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Syd Brook Lane, Mawdesley from its junction with Blue Stone Lane for a distance of 77 meters in a westerly direction for a distance of 500 metres in a westerly direction.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 08:30 to 17:00 hours on Sunday 17th August 2025 or until completion of the works within this period. Access for emergency services will be maintained whenever and wherever possible.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
Syd Brook Lane, Blue Stone Lane, Tincklers Lane, Doctors Lane, The Green, Towngate, B5250 Lydiate Lane, A581 Southport Road, A581 Highfield Road, Grape Lane, Syd Brook Lane and vice versa
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow vegetation management works around the overhead network to be carried out.
