Various Locations, Arnold, Gedling and Mapperley - Temporary Prohibition of Driving
What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (VARIOUS LOCATIONS, ARNOLD, GEDLING AND MAPPERLEY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025 (G25-112)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Arnold, Gedling and Mapperley in the Borough of Gedling
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road
a. Colliery Way, Gedling - For its entire length
b. Arnold Lane, Mapperley - For its entire length
c. Mapperley Plains, Mapperley - From its junction with Plains Road to its junction with Chartwell Grove
d. Plains Road, Mapperley - From its junction with Mapperley Plains to its junction with Central Avenue
e. Gedling Road, Arnold - From its junction with Arnold Lane, Mapperley, to its junction with Wembley Road, Arnold
2. Vehicles are prohibited from Waiting, Loading and Unloading (both sides) (at all times) in the following length of road
a. Colliery Way, Gedling - For its entire length
b. Arnold Lane, Mapperley - For its entire length
c. Mapperley Plains, Mapperley - From its junction with Plains Road to its junction with Chartwell Grove
d. Plains Road, Mapperley - From its junction with Mapperley Plains to its junction with Central Avenue
e. Gedling Road, Arnold - From its junction with Arnold Lane, Mapperley, to its junction with Wembley Road, Arnold
3. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required. 4. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows: From 19:00 hours until 05:00 hours only. From Monday 4th August until Saturday 9th August 2025 inclusive.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
a. Colliery Way, Gedling -
Phase 1: Arnold Lane - Mapperley Plains and vice versa
Phase 2 - Waldrom Road - Arnold Lane and vice versa
Phase 3 - Colwick Loop Road - Burton Road - Cavendish Road - Westdale Lane - Plains Road and vice versa
b. Arnold Lane, Mapperley - Mapperley Plains - Gedling Road - Mapperley Plains - Colliery Way and vice versa
c. Mapperley Plains, Mapperley - Woodthorpe Drive - Mansfield Road - Cross Street - Coppice Road and vice versa
d. Plains Road, Mapperley - Woodthorpe Drive - Mansfield Road - Cross Street - Coppice Road and vice versa
e. Gedling Road, Arnold - Mapperley Plains - Plains Road - Woodborough Road - Huntingdon Street - Mansfield Road - Thackeray's Lane - Arno Vale Road and vice versa
The Order will come into force on 4th August 2025 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
