What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOOTPATH
(FARNDON FOOTPATH NO.15)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:-

No person shall: -
        (a) proceed on foot,
in the following length of footpath at Farndon in the District of Newark and Sherwood: -
​Farndon Footpath No.15, its entire length between Village Way and Fosse Road.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibition will apply as follows:-
From Monday, 28th July 2025 until Monday, 8th September 2025 inclusive.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction there is no alternative route on public rights of way.

The prohibition shall apply to enable works to be carried out and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the footpath. It may also apply on subsequent days when it shall be necessary. If the works are not completed within 6 months, the Order may be extended.

The prohibition is required to enable Cadent Gas to install new Gas Valves, and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the footpath.
​THIS CLOSURE WILL ONLY TAKE EFFECT WHEN SIGNS INDICATING CLOSURE ARE DISPLAYED

THIS NOTICE IS DATED THIS 24TH DAY OF JULY 2025.
