Parish of Combe Martin - Definitive Map Review of Public Rights of Way
What is happening?

DEFINITIVE MAP REVIEW OF PUBLIC RIGHTS OF WAY PARISH OF COMBE MARTIN INFORMAL CONSULTATION SCHEDULE — PART 2
The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 requires the County Council to keep the Definitive Map of public rights of way under continuous review and to make modifications where it appears that routes should be added, regraded or deleted. A review is currently being undertaken in the Parish of Combe Martin. Your views and any relevant evidence are re-sought on the following proposals for modifying the Definitive Map for Combe Martin, previously consulted on in 2011:-
Proposal 1: Addition of a footpath from the car park to Combe Martin Beach.
Proposal 2: Addition of a footpath across Cobblers Park.
Proposal 4: Addition of a footpath along the coast path on Girt Down between Footpath Nos. 3 and 23.
Proposal 5: Deletion of part of Footpath No. 32 on Girt Down north east from the coast path.
Proposal 6: Upgrade Footpath No. 23 to bridleway on Holdstone Down.
Proposal 7 & 16: Addition of a footpath along Genesis Lane and around the edge of Holland's Park.
Proposal 13: Addition of a bridleway along Usticke Lane and Corners Lane.
Proposal 14: Upgrade Footpath No. 20 and part of Footpath No. 32 to bridleway along Knapdown Lane and part of Girt Lane.
Proposal 15: Addition of a footpath along part of Lower Dean Lane and Ladder Lane.
Proposal 21: Diversion of Footpath No. 2 north east of West Park Farm.
The Definitive Map is the legal record of public rights of way.
There are four categories:- Footpath; Bridleway; Restricted byway; and Byway open to all traffic. Maps showing the existing public rights of way and any proposals to modify the Definitive Map, are available for inspection by appointment at:- The Clerk to Combe Martin Parish Council; The offices of North Devon District Council, Lynton House, Commercial Road, Barnstaple; Public Rights of Way Service, Great Moor House, Bittern Road, Sowton, Exeter; and Online at www. devon.gov.uk/prow.
