GORCHYMYN CEFNFFORDD YR A494 (RHWNG BETHEL A GLANYRAFON, GWYNEDD)
(GWAHARDDIADAU A CHYFYNGIAD TRAFFIG DROS DRO) 2025

MAE GWEINIDOGION CYMRU wedi gwneud Gorchymyn o dan adran 14 o Ddeddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffyrdd 1984. Mae angen y Gorchymyn er mwyn gwneud gwaith ar Gefnffordd yr A494, neu gerllaw iddi, rhwng Bethel a Glanyrafon, Gwynedd.

Effaith y Gorchymyn fydd gosod terfyn cyflymder dros dro o 40 mya a gwahardd goddiweddyd ar unrhyw adeg ar y darn o Gefnffordd yr A494 sy’n ymestyn o bwynt 580 o fetrau i’r gogledd-ddwyrain o’i chyffordd â ffordd sirol y B4402 ger Bethel hyd at bwynt 1890 o fetrau i’r gogledd-ddwyrain o’i chyffordd â ffordd sirol y B4402, sy’n gyfagos i’r gilfan orllewinol yng Nghoedwig Llwyn Braich Ddu, ger Glanyrafon.

Bydd unrhyw gerbyd sy’n lletach na 3.5 metr, ac eithrio’r rhai a ddefnyddir ar gyfer y gwaith a’r gwasanaethau brys, yn cael ei wahardd rhag mynd ar y darn o Gefnffordd yr A494 a ddisgrifir uchod.

Y llwybr arall ar gyfer cerbydau sy’n teithio tua’r gogledd sy’n lletach na 3.5 metr fydd mynd ar hyd yr A470 tua’r gogledd o Ddolgellau drwy Flaenau Ffestiniog a Dolwyddelan, a’r A5 tua’r dwyrain o ychydig i’r de o Fetws-y-coed i ailgysylltu â’r A494. I’r gwrthwyneb ar gyfer cerbydau sy’n teithio tua’r de sy’n lletach na 3.5 metr.

Disgwylir y bydd y gwaharddiadau a’r cyfyngiadau dros dro, y codir arwyddion priodol yn eu cylch, yn dod i rym am 00:01 o’r gloch ar 25 Gorffennaf 2025 ac yn weithredol am gyfnod o 18 mis ar y mwyaf.

THE A494 TRUNK ROAD (BETWEEN BETHEL AND GLAN YR AFON, GWYNEDD)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC PROHIBITIONS AND RESTRICTION) ORDER 2025

THE WELSH MINISTERS have made an Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which is necessary to undertake works on or near the A494 Trunk Road between Bethel and Glan Yr Afon, Gwynedd.

The effect of the Order will be to temporarily impose a 40 mph speed limit and prohibit overtaking at all times on the length of the A494 Trunk Road that extends from a point 580 metres north-east of its junction with the B4402 county road near Bethel to a point 1890 metres north-east of its junction with the B4402 county road, which is adjacent to the western layby at Llwyn Braich Ddu Forest, near Glan yr Afon.

All vehicles with widths greater than 3.5 metres, other than those being used for the works and emergency services, will be prohibited from proceeding on the length of the A494 Trunk Road described above.

The alternative route for northbound vehicles with widths greater than 3.5 metres will be via the northbound A470 from Dolgellau through Blaenau Ffestiniog and Dolwyddelan, and the eastbound A5 from just south of Betws-y-Coed to reconnect with the A494.

Vice versa for southbound vehicles with widths greater than 3.5 metres.

It is expected that the temporary prohibitions and restrictions, which will be signed accordingly, will come into force at 00:01 hours on 25 July 2025 and operate for a maximum period of 18 months.
