Trenchard Avenue - Multiple Traffic Notices

THE BOROUGH OF STOCKTON ON TEES THORNABY TOWN CENTRE, THORNABY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025 

Notice is hereby given that Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council propose to make an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32. 35 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act") and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act. The Order will have the effect of introducing new 2 hours limited waiting between the hours of 9am - 5pm Monday to Saturday along the lengths of road specified in Schedule 1 hereto, introducing new designated bays for disabled parking along the length of road specified in Schedule 2, introducing new no waiting at any time restrictions to the lengths of road specified in Schedule 3, Introducing a new 24 hour bus and pedal cycle lane along the lengths of roads specified in Schedule 4 and restricting driving along the lengths of road specified in Schedule 5.

Full details of the proposals are contained in the draft Order which, together with a map showing the affected roads and a statement of the Council's reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be examined at the Stockton Customer Service Centre, Central Library, The Square, Stockton-on-Tees during normal office hours and on the Council's website (Traffic Orders). If you wish to object to the proposed Order you should send the grounds for your objection in writing to Transport Planning and Strategy Manger Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, Dunedin House, Columbia Drive, Thornaby, Stockton-on-Tees, TS17 6BJ or HTD@Stockton.gov.uk by 15th August 2025.

Schedule 1 - 2 hours limited waiting, no return 2 hours, Mon - Sat 9am - 5pm Trenchard Avenue (West Side) - From a point approximately 136 metres south of its junction with Mitchell Avenue/Millbank Lane roundabout for a distance of approximately 42 metres in a southerly direction.

Schedule 2 - 3 No. Mandatory disabled bays at all times Trenchard Avenue (West Side) - From a point approximately 118 metres south of its junction with Mitchell Avenue/Milbank Lane roundabout, in a southerly direction for a distance of approximately 18 metres.

Schedule 3 - No Waiting at anytime restrictions Trenchard Avenue (West Side) - From its junction with Mitchell Avenue/Milbank Lane roundabout in a southerly direction for a distance of approximately 114 metres.

Trenchard Avenue (West Side) - From its junction with Fawcett Road in a northerly direction for a distance of approximately 94 metres.

Schedule 4 - 24 Hour Bus and Pedal Cycle Lane Trenchard Avenue, Thornaby (East Side) - From it a point approximately 9 metres south of its junction with Mitchell Avenue/Milbank Lane roundabout in a southerly direction for a distance of approximately 76 metres.

Schedule 5 - Prohibition of Driving - Central Reserve Gap Closure Trenchard Avenue, Thornaby - From a point approximately 99 metres south of its junction with Mitchell Avenue/Milbank Lane roundabout in a southerly direction for a distance of approximately 9 metres.
