What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) (NO.8) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists) from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule.

Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force.

Phased works will not necessarily be done in numerical order.

Westmorland and Furness Highways will ensure that local residents and the general public are informed of which roads are to be closed and when, nearer the times.

The Order will come into operation on 30th July 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for 3 months in total and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

EXTENT OF RESTRICTIONS AND ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

  1. B5286 Outgate (Ref: TTROW/14917)

    From its junction with B5285, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 5.6km.

    Alternative Route: via the B5285 and the A593.

  2. C5108 Kendal Road, Staveley (Ref: TTROW/14921)

    From its junction with the A591, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 680m.

    Alternative Route: via the A591 and the unrestricted section of the C5108.

  3. C5053 Woodbroughton Hall (Ref: TTROW/14922)

    From its junction with the C5041, extending in an overall westerly direction for approx. 1.1km.

    Alternative Route: via the C5041, A590 and the C5040.

  4. B5360 Storrs (Ref: TTROW/15088)

    From its junction with the A5074, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 1.6km

    Alternative Route: via the A5074 and B5285.

  5. C5069 Old Town, Mansergh (Ref: TTROW/15090)

    From its junction with the B6254, extending in a north easterly then northerly direction for approx. 3.5km.

    Alternative Route: via the B6254, C5077 and the C5078.

  6. C5105 Busk Lane, Sedbergh (Ref: TTROW/15092)

    From its junction with A684 Station Road, extending in an overall south easterly direction for approx. 785m.

    Alternative Route: via the A684 Station Road and the C5101 Loftus Hill.

  7. U5283 Craketrees, Whinfell (Ref: TTROW/15093)

    From its junction with U5279, extending in an overall south easterly direction for approx. 1.2km.

    Alternative Route: via the U5279 and the C5065.

  8. C5100 Howgill Lane, Sedbergh (Ref: TTROW/15098)

    From its junction with the A684, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 4km.

    Alternative Route: via the A684, B6257, A685, U3285 and the U5742.
