Ashford, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

 

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

 

ASHFORD AREA

 

B2080 Appledore Road, Tenterden, TN30 7DE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025

To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of B2080 Appledore Road, Tenterden, from 19th August 2025, with estimated completion by 21st August 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Petersfield, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2080 Appledore Road, B2067 Woodchurch Road, Brook Street, Kenardington Road, Warehorne Road, D1305 11 Acre Wood Lane Junction With B2067 To D1291 Junction With D1305 11 Acre Wood Lane, Ashford Road, Ashford Road Junction With Bypass Link Road To Hamstreet, A2070 From J A2070/B2080 Roundabout To J A2042, Hamstreet Bypass, A2070 From Ashford Road To District Boundary, A2070 Rhee Wall To Ashford Road, A259 J A2070/B2080 Roundabout, Rhee Wall Roundabout, B2080 Rhee Wall, Brenzett Corner Roundabout, Rhee Wall Road, Station Road, The Street, Tenterden Road, Reading Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Bartlets Lane & Chilmington Green Road, Great Chart. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & TEMPORARY 30 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025

To allow Section 278 works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bartlets Lane, Great Chart and to impose a temporary 30 mph speed restriction on part of Chilmington Green Road, Great Chart, from 4th August 2025, with estimated completion by 25th October 2025, or until the works have been completed.

Bartlets Lane will be closed between the junctions with Chilmington Green Road and Chilmington Green Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Chilmington Green Lane and Chilmington Green Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

The temporary 30 mph speed restriction on Chilmington Green Road will be imposed in the vicinity of Chilmington Green Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

 

Canterbury Road, Brabourne. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025

To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Canterbury Road, Brabourne, from 4th August 2025, with estimated completion by 5th August 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside Mayfield, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Canterbury Road, The Street, Scots Lane, Whiteways, Pilgrims Way, Stone Street, Blindhouse Lane, Swan Lane, Main Road, Stone Hill, Plain Road and Canterbury Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Church Lane, Aldington, TN25 7EH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Church Lane, Aldington, from 20th August 2025, with estimated completion by 21st August 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between The Paddock and Fore Head, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Church Lane, A20 Hythe Road, Station Road, Evegate Mill Lane, Station Road, Goldwell Lane, Roman Road, Church Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Church Road, Smeeth. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025

To allow carriageway resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Church Road, Smeeth, from 20th August 2025, with estimated completion by 21st August 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junction with A20 Hythe Road and the church, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A20 Hythe Road, The Ridgeway, Church Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Fosten Lane, Biddenden, TN27 8DQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Fosten Lane, Biddenden, from 19th August 2025, with estimated completion by 21st August 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 1 Biddenden Cottages, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A262 Sissinghurst Road, High Street, Tenterden Road, Benenden Road, Cranbrook Road, Fosten Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

High Halden Road From Pb To Pb, High Halden, TN26 3HX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025

To allow overhead cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of High Halden Road From Pb To Pb, High Halden, from 7th August 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Harris Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Harris Lane, Thurstons Lane, High Halden Road, Pot Kiln Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Newchurch Road, Bilsington, TN25 7JY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025

To allow water meter works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Newchurch Road, Bilsington, from 5th August 2025, with estimated completion by 8th August 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Courtside, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Newchurch Road, From Newchurch To Junction With Newchurch Road Bilsington And Honey Wood Lane, Newchurch Lane, Ashford Road, A2070 From Ashford Road To District Boundary, A2070 From J A2070/B2080 Roundabout To J A2042, Marsh Road, B2067 Cock Lane, Ruckinge Road, Hamstreet Road, Bilsington Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Royds Road, Willesborough, TN24 0GU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025

To allow new service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Royds Road, Willesborough, from 20th August 2025, with estimated completion by 27th August 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 53, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

School Road, Appledore, TN26 2AX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025

To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of School Road, Appledore, from 22nd August 2025, with estimated completion by 26th August 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junction with Appledore Heath Cut and Little Greenfield, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2067 Woodchurch Road, Bench Hill, B2080 Appledore Road, Brook Street, Reading Street, Tenterden Road, School Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Shalmsford Road, Chilham, CT4 8AZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025

To allow carriageway repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Shalmsford Road, Chilham, from 21st August 2025, with estimated completion by 22nd August 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Ashford Road and Lower Lees Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A28 Canterbury Road, Maidstone Road, New Cut Road, New Forest Lane, Selling Road, Lower Lees Road and Shalmsford Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Swain Road, Tenterden, TN30 6PD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025

To allow water pipe repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Swain Road, Tenterden, from 19th August 2025, with estimated completion by 21st August 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed adjacent to number 48 Heather Drive, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Swain Road, A28 Ashford Road, Silver Hill, B2080 Beacon Oak Road, B2067 Woodchurch Road, Brook Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Tenterden Road, Biddenden. (TEMPORARY 30 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025

To allow excavation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an order to impose a temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction on part of Tenterden Road, Biddenden, from 18th August 2025, with estimated completion by 1st September 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The temporary 30 mph speed restriction on Tenterden Road will be imposed at the junction with Shorts Wood, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

 

The Wynd, Charing, TN27 0ND (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Wynd, Charing, from 4th August 2025, with estimated completion by 7th August 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Old Millhouse, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Wynd, Bowl Road and A252 Charing Hill.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
