A38 Trunk Road & A30 Trunk Road - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic For Maintenance Works

What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)(a)
THE A38 TRUNK ROAD (STOKETON CROSS)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (a) has made an Order on the A38 trunk road in the County of Cornwall to allow roundabout construction and associated maintenance works to be carried out in safety.

The works are expected to take place commencing on or after 28 July 2025 and be completed by 30 April 2026.

The effect of the Order will be:
(a) to impose a mandatory 30 mph speed limit on the A38 eastbound and westbound between 2600 metres east and 250 metres west of Stoketon Cross Junction;

(b) to authorise the closure overnight (20.00 to 06.00) of A38 eastbound and westbound between Carkeel Roundabout and Stoketon Cross Junction;

(c) to prohibit vehicles over 3.65 metres in width from the A38 eastbound and westbound between 325 metres east and 250 metres west of Stoketon Cross Junction;

(d) to prohibit overtaking on the length of the A38 given at (c) above;

(e) to prohibit right turns into or out of the local roads at Stoketon Cross Junction.

During the closures, traffic will be diverted via junctions of the A38 and local roads.

Access to and from premises that are accessible from and only from the A38 will be maintained during the works.

The closures (which will not apply to emergency service, traffic officer or works vehicles) prohibitions, speed limits, and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the works.

The Order will come into force on 26 July 2025 and have a maximum duration of 18 months.

THE A30 TRUNK ROAD (HIGHGATE HILL)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (a) has made an Order on the A30 trunk road in the County of Cornwall to allow cable and associated maintenance works to be carried out in safety.

The works are expected to take place overnight (22.00 to 06.00) commencing on or after 28 July 2025 and be completed by 30 July 2025.

The effect of the Order will be the closure of the A30 westbound entry and exit slip roads at Highgate Hill Roundabout.

During the closures, traffic will be diverted via junctions of the A30 and local roads.

The closure (which will not apply to emergency service, traffic officer or works vehicles) and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the works.

The Order will come into force on 26 July 2025 and have a maximum duration of 18 months.
