Longacre Street, Piccadilly Ward - Temporary Prohibition Of Vehicular Traffic For Works

What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL
 TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC144244423: The City of Manchester (Longacre Street, Piccadilly Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Longacre Street at its junction with Chapeltown Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate a new water connection. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 9th August 2025 to 10th August 2025. The order shall come into operation on 9th August 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Dated: 26th July 2025. 
ORDER NO. MCC144324100: The City of Manchester (George Street, Deansgate Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on George Street between Chain Street and New York Street. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Chain Street, Faulkner Street, Charlotte Street, Fountain Street, York Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate a MEWP. It is expected that the works will be in progress on weekends only from 9th August 2025 to 14th September 2025. The order shall come into operation on 9th August 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
