What is happening?
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: A) C180 (Part), Chippenham Without; from a point approximately 55m south of its property known as Allington House for a distance of approximately 50m in a south easterly direction to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out new connection works and other associated works. Alternative route via C180 (unaffected length) – A420 – B4039 – Fowlswick Lane – C180 (unaffected length) and vice versa. B) Church Road (Part), Woodborough; from its junction with Woodborough Road for a distance of approximately 100m in a northerly direction, C) Church Road (Part), Woodborough; from its junction with Chapel Lane for a distance of approximately 7m in an easterly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out sewer relining works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 18 August 2025 and the closure will be required until 29 August 2025. D) George Lane (Part), Marlborough; from outside its property known as No.16 George Lane for a distance of approximately 25m in a north westerly direction to enable Thames Water to carry out sewer repairs relating to collapsed pipework. This Order will come into operation on 20 August 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 1 day. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 19 August 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 2 days. J) C151 (Part), Castle Combe; from its junction with Dunns Lane to its junction with B4039 to enable Openreach to carry out pole replacement works and other associated works. Alternative route via B4039 – Dunns Lane and vice versa. This Order which previously came into operation on 26 May 2025 will now recommence on 28 July 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all vehicles, including pedal cycles and pedestrians, that section of Roundway Park (Part), Devizes; from its junction with London Road in a north easterly direction for a distance of approximately 25m. To enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to facilitate a diversion of traffic in place on behalf of Scottish and Southern Power Distribution. Alternative route via London Road – Nursteed Road – Broadway – Quakers Road – Roundway Park and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 28 July 2025 and the closure will be required until 01 August 2025. The closures and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order will come into operation on 28 July 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 until 12 August 2025. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months. B) Wood Street (Part), Royal Wootton Bassett; from its property known as No.33 Wood Street for a distance of approximately 35m in a north westerly direction. C) Footpath 5, Royal Wootton Bassett; from its junction with Church Street to its junction with Wood Street to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out footway resurfacing and adjustment of ironwork and other associated works. No alternative route is available. The closures will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order will come into operation on 28 July 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 until 01 August 2025. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. Order A) and B) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make an Order to close temporarily to all users: Footpath 215 (Part), Purton; from its junction with Church Street to its junction with Brideleway 151, Purton to enable renewal of a level crossing – crossing to be removed. The crossing will be reinstated during the core works and the crossing will be opened back to the public. It will then be removed again for the dates in September and then reopened. Alternative route via Brideleway 151, Purton – Restricted Byway 5, Purton – Bridleway 152, Purton – Bridleway 146, Purton and vice versa. The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. The Order will come into operation on 16 August 2025 between the hours of: 23:00 and 09:30 on 17 August. 25 August 2025 between the hours of 23:55 and 06:00 on 1 night. 06 September 2025 between the hours of 23:55 and 09:00 for 1 night. Access will be maintained where possible although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 6 months. THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (DEVIZES) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING, PROHIBITION OF STOPPING, TAXI RANK CLEARWAYS AND ON STREET PARKING) CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2025
(Previously advertised The County of Wiltshire (Devizes) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting, Taxi Rank Clearways and On Street Parking) Consolidation Order 2017 (Amendment No.5) Order 2024)
Notice is hereby given that on 16 July 2025 Wiltshire Council made the above mentioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 the effect of which is to revoke the Devizes Consolidation Order 2017 (with Amendment Nos. 1, 2, 3 and 4) and to re-enact the provisions in the new Map Schedule format and to include additional restrictions, the effect of which will be as follows:
i) To introduce No Waiting at any time on Avon Road – north side – from a point 10 metres west of its junction with Salisbury Street to a point 14 metres east of that point;
Bath Road – south side – from a point 14 metres west of its junction with Okus Estate to a point 17 metres east of that junction;
Byron Road – both sides – from its junction with Wick Lane and Green Lane to a point 10 metres south of that junction;
Combe Walk – south side – i) from a point 8 metres west of the eastern property boundary of Nos. 19 to 27 White Horse Way to a point 16 metres west of that boundary;
ii) from its western junction with White Horse Way to a point 13 metres south of its junction;
Eastleigh Road – west side – i) from a point 21 metres north of its junction with Pines Road to a point 24 metres south of that junction
ii) from the property boundary of No.53 Eastleigh Road to a point 6 metres south of that boundary;
Eastleigh Road – east side – from a point 22 metres north of its junction with Pines Road to a point 14 metres south of that junction;
Folly Road – west side – from a point 16 metres north of its junction with White Horse Way to a point 16 metres south of that junction;
Green Lane – south side – from its junction with Pans Lane and Byron Road to a point 22 metres east of that junction;
Hopton Road – north west side – from its junction with the north entrance of Unit 5c Hopton Industrial Estate (currently known as Devizes Building Supplies) to a point 8 metres west of that junction;
Hopton Road – south east side – i) from a point 16 metres south of the entrance to Hopton Industrial Estate to a point 6 metres north of that boundary
ii) from a point 16 metres south of the property boundary of No.15 White Horse Way to a point 3 metres south of that boundary;
iii) from a point 3 metres south of the property boundary of No.8 White Horse Way to a point 4 metres east of that boundary;
iv) from a point 4 metres east of the eastern property boundary of No.8 White Horse Way to a point 2 metres east of that boundary;
v) from a point 7 metres north of the northern property boundary of No.82 White Horse Way to a point 16 metres north of that boundary;
Wick Lane – both sides – from its junction with Pans Lane and Byron Road to a point 28 metres west of that junction;
ii) To introduce Loading Only 8am - 4pm 1 hour no return within 2 hours on Southbroom Road – west side – from the northern property boundary of No.121 Southbroom Road to a point 25 metres south of that boundary (the entirety of the existing lay-by). These restrictions will replace any existing restrictions currently in force in the town of Devizes on the above roads. Following a decision from the Cabinet Member for Highways, Street Scene and Flooding amendments have been made to the restrictions previously advertised on Southbroom Road and Victoria Road. Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in the Order on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the Act or on the grounds that any requirement of that Section or of Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act or any regulation made under the said Schedule, has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court. The Order will come into operation on 28 July 2025.
