Order 2024
Portsmouth City Council hereby gives Notice that on the 28 July 2025 it made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The Order will come into effect on 30 July 2025.
The effect of the Order will be to:
A) Introduce a Prohibition of Motor Vehicles (except for permit-holders) on the following roads between the hours of 8.15 - 9.00 am and 2.45 - 3.30 pm, Monday to Friday:
Farthing Lane
For its entire length
Halfpenny Lane
For its entire length
Peacock Lane
For its entire length
Pembrooke Close
For its entire length
Penny Street
From its junction with Pembroke Road to its northern closed end
Poynings Place
For its entire length
St. Nicholas Street
For its entire length
Wyndham Place
For its entire length
B) Introduce a Prohibition of Motor Vehicles (except for permit-holders) on the following road between the hours of 8.30 - 9.15 am and 3.00 - 3.45 pm, Monday to Friday: -
Heyward Road
For its entire length

2. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant enabling Act, or that a requirement of any such enabling Act or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with, may, within 6 weeks from the date of the Order, make application for this purpose to the High Court.
