What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (U7253 Church Road, Crowborough)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Church Road – from the junction with C11 Croft Road to the junction with A26 Beacon Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A26 Beacon Road – U7877 Mill Lane – C11 Croft Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 30 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 30 July and 29 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U5101 South Way, Lewes)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

South Way – from the junction with U5101 Nevill Crescent to the junction with U5101 Hawkenbury Way.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic eastbound via U5101 South Way, Middle Way, Nevill Crescent – A275 Nevill Road – U5101 Nevill Crescent and westbound via U5101 Nevill Crescent, Middle Way, South Way.

The Order commences 31 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 31 July 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C508 Wilderness Lane, Hadlow Down)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Wilderness Lane – from the junction with C508 Chapel Lane to the junction with A272 Main Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A272 Main Road, Summer Hill – A267 Heathfield Road – B2239 Mayfield Flat – B2102 Lewes Road, High Street – C508 Chapel Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 31 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 31 July and 4 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Elphick Road – from the junction with U5274 Ship Street to the junction with P5614 Robinson Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U5274 Ship Street – C7 Lewes Road – U5274 Elphick Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 29 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 29 July 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Lewes Road – from the junction with A22 Uckfield bypass to the junction with Highlands roundabout.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C26 Eastbourne Road – A22 Eastbourne Road, Uckfield bypass and vice versa.

The Order commences 28 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 28 July and 1 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U5119 Grange Road, Lewes)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Grange Road – from the junction with U5162 Southover High Street to the junction with U5119 St Pancras Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U5119 St Pancras Road, Rotten Row, Antioch Street – A277 High Street, Western Road – C7 Winterbourne Hollow, Bell Lane – B2193 Southover High Street – U5162 Southover High Street and vice versa.

The Order commences 29 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 29 and 31 July 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C330 Nash Street, Chiddingly)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Nash Street – from the junction with A22 Golden Cross to the junction with C330 Thunders Hill.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C330 Thunders Hill, Gun Hill, Pick Hill – C114 Stonehill, Hale Green, Scrapers Hill, Muddles Green, Burgh Hill Road – A22 Golden Cross and vice versa.

The Order commenced 17 October 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 1 and 4 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U5523 Firle Road, Seaford)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 No.2

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Firle Road – from the junction with U5398 Firle Grange to the junction with U5499 Belgrave Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U5523 Firle Road – U5544 Royal Drive, Duchess Drive, Crown Hill – U5487 Grand Avenue – U5486 Princess Drive – U5494 Carlton Road – U5499 Belgrave Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 28 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 28 July and 1 September 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Uckfield Road/Rose Hill/Lewes Road – from the junction with C112 Ham Lane to the junction with A22 Little Horsted roundabout.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A22 Little Horsted roundabout, Uckfield bypass, Eastbourne Road – B2192 Lewes Road, Terrible Down Road, The Broyle, Lewes Road, Ringmer Road – A26 Malling Down, Malling Hill, Malling Street, Cuilfal Tunnel roundabout, Malling Street, Malling Hill, Malling Down, Uckfield Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 25 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 25 July and 30 September 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C718 Mill Road, Hailsham)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 No.3

To allow Triconnex Ltd to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Mill Road – from the junction with C718 Old Swan Lane to the junction with U7210 Bellbanks Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic northbound via C718 Mill Road, Market Street, Market Square – A295 George Street – C411 Station Road – C718 Old Swan Lane, Mill Road and southbound via C718 Mill Road, Old Swan Lane – C411 Station Road – A295 George Street, North Street, High Street – C718 Market Square, Market Street, Mill Road.

The Order commences 28 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 28 July and 19 September 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Hempstead Lane – from the junction with B2104 London Road to the junction with U7193 Anglesey Avenue.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic eastbound via C1078 Hempstead Lane – A22 Hailsham bypass, Diplocks roundabout, Hailsham bypass, Arlington Eagles roundabout – A295 South Road, George Street, North Street, High Street – B2202 London Road – B2104 London Road and westbound via B2104 London Road – B2202 London Road – A295 High Street, North Street, George Street, South Road – A22 Arlington Eagles roundabout, Hailsham bypass, Diplocks roundabout, Hailsham bypass, Boship roundabout, Hailsham bypass – C1078 Hempstead Lane.

The Order commences 28 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 28 July and 29 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The Order commences 12 August 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 12 and 13 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The Order commences 8 August 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 8 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The Order commences 11 August 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 11 and 13 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Ringmer Road – from the junction with A26 Uckfield Road to the junction with C113 New Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2192 Lewes Road, The Broyle, Terrible Down Road, Lewes Road – A22 Eastbourne Road, Uckfield bypass, Little Horsted roundabout – A26 Lewes Road, Rose Hill, Uckfield Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 14 August 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 19:00hrs to 06:00hrs between 14 and 16 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C208 Park Road, Hellingly)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow O2 Ltd to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Park Road – from the junction with A271 Hawkswood Road to the junction with C343 New Road

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A271 Hawkswood Road, Amberstone – C343 New Road – C208 Park Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 8 August 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken as detailed below depending upon the weather conditions. On 8 August 2025
