A663 Trunk Road, Broadway - Temporary Restriction And Prohibition of Traffic For Junction Improvement Works

THE A663 TRUNK ROAD - BROADWAY
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 09346363) has made an Order on the A663 Trunk Road, in the City of Manchester, in the County of Greater Manchester, to enable junction improvement works by Manchester City Council to be carried out in safety.
The Order will on the following sections of the A663 Trunk Road:
i. impose a 30 mph speed limit on the northbound carriageway, from the junction with Moston Lane East, to a point 50 metres north of the junction with Hollinwood Avenue;
ii. impose a 30 mph speed limit on the southbound carriageways, from the junction with Butterworth Lane to the junction with Moston Lane East;
iii. ban all traffic from the northbound and southbound carriageways, from the junction with Moston Lane East to the junction with Hollinwood Avenue;
iv. ban all traffic from turning right from the A663 southbound carriageway onto the Moston Lane East (north westbound);
v. ban all traffic from turning left from the A663 southbound carriageway onto the Moston Lane East (southeast bound).
Prohibitions iv.-v. are expected to be in place during a continuous period, starting at 20:00 on Friday 1 August 2025 and ending at 06:00 on Monday 4 August 2025 and restarting again on Friday 8 August 2025 and ending at 06:00 on Monday 11 August 2025.
Restrictions i.-ii. are expected to be in place during a continuous period, starting at 00:01 on Monday 4 August 2025 and ending at 23:59 on Friday 19 September 2025.
Prohibition iii. is expected to be in place overnight between 21:00 and 05:00 during a period, starting on Monday 4 August 2025 and ending on Friday 19 September 2025.
However, works may start and continue during subsequent continuous periods or between the same times on subsequent nights, or until completed.
Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the A663 Trunk Road, and local roads will be well signed and access for residents/pedestrians will be maintained.
The restrictions will not apply to emergency services or special-forces vehicles, and the prohibitions will not apply to emergency services, works or traffic officer vehicles.
The restrictions and prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs.
