North Tyneside - Multiple Traffic Notices
What is happening?
THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF NORTH TYNESIDE
BACKWORTH & HOLYSTONE, LONGBENTON & BENTON, CULLERCOATS & WHITLEY BAY SOUTH, ST MARYS AND TYNEMOUTH, NORTH TYNESIDE
TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2025
North Tyneside Council gives notice that it has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit all through traffic on the following roads in order to complete surface dressing them.
BACKWORTH & HOLYSTONE
A186 Rotary Road from Railway Bridge to Hastings Drive Roundabout eastbound. An alternative route is available via B1322 Station Road.
CULLERCOATS & WHITLEY BAY SOUTH
A193 The Broadway from Links Avenue 50m North of Links Avenue. Alternative routes available via the A193 and Beach Road.
LONGBENTON & BENTON
1) A188 Benton Lane from A189 Salters Lane Roundabout to Quorum Business Park Roundabout Southbound. Alternative routes available via the A189.
2) A189 Salters Lane from A188 Benton Lane Roundabout to Gosforth Park Way Roundabout Westbound. Alternative routes available via the A188 Benton Lane and the A189.
ST MARYS
1) A192 Northbound From Earsdon Road Roundabout for Approx 500m. Alternative routes available via the A192.
2) Monkseaton Drive. Newsteads Drive Roundabout to Beaumont Drive Roundabout and Beaumont Drive Roundabout to The Avenue Wagonway.
Alternative routes available via Red House Drive/ Beaumont Drive, Newsteads Drive and Monkseaton Drive.
3) A193 Blyth Road. From North Tyneside Boundary to Whitley Bay Cemetery. Alternative routes available via The Links and Hartley Lane.
TYNEMOUTH
A193 The Broadway from Beach Road to Links Avenue. Alternative routes available via the A193 and Beach Road.
The Order will come into force on 11 August 2025 lasting until 30 September 2025.
Alternative routes will also be indicated by on site signage.
