ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 (as Amended) – SECTION 14(1)
THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF ST. HELENS (OAK TREE ROAD, ECCLESTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING ORDER 2025)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 9th day of July, 2025, the St. Helens Borough Council made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as Amended), the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit a vehicle proceed in either direction along Oak Tree Road between Houghtons Lane and Ecclesfield Road, as and when directed by road traffic signs on-site.
The Order came into force on Monday 21st July 2025, and will have a maximum duration of eighteen months, but will terminate on completion of the works, which is expected to take three weeks. The alternative route will be via Houghtons Lane, Walmesley Road, Ecclesfield Road and vice versa.
The reason for making this Order is to facilitate repairs to the sewer.
