What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (U6957 Swainham Lane, Crowhurst) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure Swainham Lane – for its full extent.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 11 August 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 11 and 13 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3206 George Street, Hastings)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 No.2 To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure George Street – for 30 metres outside No.24.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 11 August 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 11 and 19 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6122 The Pound, Ashburnham)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

The Pound – from the junction with C18 Church Road to the junction with C412 Brownbread Street. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C18 Church Road – C412 Brownbread Street and vice versa.

The Order commences 14 August 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 14 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3152 Cornfield Terrace,  St Leonards)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Cornfield Terrace – from the junction with U3154 Tower Road to the junction with A21 Bohemia Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3154 Tower Road – A21 Bohemia Road and vice versa.

To maintain access for residents only, a suspension of one-way traffic will be in place (revert to two-way traffic), during these works.

The Order commences 11 August 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 11 and 13 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6531 Collington Lane East, Bexhill)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under

Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Collington Lane East – from the junction with B2098 Sutherland Avenue to the junction with U6532 Collington Park Crescent.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6531 Collington Lane East – U6533 Cranston Avenue – B2098 Sutherland Avenue and vice versa.

The Order commences 24 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 24 and 25 July 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C23 Friars Hill, Guestling)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Friars Hill – from the junction with A259 White Hart Hill to the junction with C970 Chapel Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C23 Friars Hill, Pett Road, Chick Hill – C92 Pett Level Road, Battery Hill, Fairlight Road – A259 Old London Road, Rye Road – A259(T) Winchelsea Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 28 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 28 July 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C213 Church Lane, Etchingham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under

Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Church Lane – from the junction with A265 High Street to the junction with C213 Sheepstreet Lane. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C213 Sheepstreet Lane – C83 Myskyns Road – C212 Battenhurst Road, Shrub Lane – A265 Etchingham Road, Straight Mile, High Street and vice versa.

The Order commences 28 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 28 July and 22 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C19 Castle Road, Bodiam)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Castle Road – from the junction with C308 Peters Green Road to the junction with B2244 Hawkhurst Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C308 Peters Green Road – Bodiam Road (KCC) – A268 Queen Street (KCC), Megrims Hill (KCC), Rye Road (KCC) – A229 Highgate Hill (KCC) – B2244 Hastings Road (KCC) – B2244 Hawkhurst Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 28 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 28 and 30 July 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C22 Harts Green, Westfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road; Temporary Road Closure

Harts Green – from the junction with U6954 New England Lane to the junction with C22 Wheel Lane. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C22 Harts Green, Cottage Lane, Chapel Hill – B2244 The Street – C21 Brede Lane, Pottery Lane – A28 Cackle Street, Brede Hill, Brede Road, Main Road – C22 Wheel Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 25 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 25 and 28 July 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C22 Butchers Lane, Guestling) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under

Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Butchers Lane – from the junction with U6971 Eight Acre Lane to the junction with C22 Three Oaks Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C22 Butchers Lane – C639 Ivyhouse Lane, Chowns Hill – B2093 The Ridge, Old London Road – A259 Rye Road – A259(T) Winchelsea Road, White Hart Hill, Winchelsea Road, Rye Road – C22 Butchers Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 28 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 28 July and 15 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C293 Whatlington Road, Battle)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Whatlington Road – from the junction with U6307 Oakhurst Road to the junction with C625 Virgins Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C293 Whatlington Road – A21(T) Woodmans Green Road, Vinehall Road, Johns Cross roundabout – A2100 London Road, Ten Sixty-Six roundabout, High Street – C293 Mount Street, Caldbec Hill and vice versa.

The Order commences 28 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 28 and 30 July 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Trooli to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Friars Hill – from the junction with A259(T) Winchelsea Road to the junction with C23 Pett Road.

Diversion via C23 Pett Road, Chick Hill – C92 Pett Level Road, Battery Hill, Fairlight Road – A259 Old London Road, Rye Road – A259(T) Winchelsea Road and vice versa.

Chapel Lane – at the junction with C23 Friars Hill. Diversion via C970 Chapel Lane – A259(T) White Hart Hill – C23 Friars Hill and vice versa.

Church Lane – at the junction with C23 Friars Hill. Diversion via U6969 Church Lane – A259(T) Winchelsea Road, White Hart Hill – C23 Friars Hill and vice versa.

Peter James Lane – at the junction with C23 Friars Hill. Diversion via U6636 Peter James Lane – C92 Battery Hill, Fairlight Road – A259 Old London Road, Rye Road – A259(T) Winchelsea Road – C23 Friars Hill and vice versa.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with alternative routes for through traffic set out above.

The Order commences 28 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 28 July and 1 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.
