(Various Roads, Witham) (District of Braintree) (20mph Zone) Order 202
Notice is hereby given* that Essex County Council proposes to make the above Order under Sections 84(1) (a) and (2) and Part III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
To Implement a "20mph Zone" on the following lengths of road.
Road | Description |
River View | From a point approximately 93.0 metres from the junction with Maldon Road for approximately 113.0 metres westwards. |
Cricketers Gardens | From its junction with Riverview, north for approximately 300.0 metres. Including private drives and turning heads. |
Otter Vale | From its junction with Cricketers Gardens west for approximately 228.0 metres. Including private drives and turning heads. |
Leveret Lane | From its junction with Cricketers Gardens north for approximately 406.0 metres. Including private drives and turning heads |
Water Vole Way | From its junction with Cricketers Gardens west to its junction with Otter Vale 400 metres. |
Field View Close | Including private drives and turning heads |
Field View | From its junction with Otter Vale southwest for its entire length. Including private drives and turning heads. |

(Codlinhurst Avenue, Braintree & Bocking) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order
: To temporarily close that length of Codlinhurst Avenue, Braintree and Bocking in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Church Lane for a distance of approximately 340m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th August 2025 for 12 days, or where stated on a valid permit (ZP5011001492735 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.An alternative route will be via Codlinhurst Avenue, Panfield Lane, Deanery Hill, Church Lane and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 31st July 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Forest Road, Witham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order
: To temporarily close that length of Forest Road, Witham in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Cypress Road to its junction with Rickstones Road a distance of approximately 119m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 20th August 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2858739 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.An alternative route is available via Cypress Road, Braintree Road, Rickstones Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 31st July 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Mill Hill, Braintree & Bocking) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order
: To temporarily close that length of Mill Hill, Braintree and Bocking in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 80m east of its junction with Rose Hill for a distance of approximately 50m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 20th August 2025 for 7 days, or where stated on a valid permit (GC203884236457 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.An alternative route is available via Rose Hill, Railway Street, Trinovantian Way, Manor Street, Lakes Road, Chapel Hill and vice versa (with access only into Mill Hill).
The Order will come into effect on 31st July 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Boultwood Farm Road, Stisted) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order
: To temporarily close that length of Boultwood Farm Road, Stisted in the District of Braintree from its junction with Church Farm Lane to its junction with Rayne Hatch Wood Road a distance of approximately 1285m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 14th August 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2858939 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while drainage works are undertaken by Essex County Council.An alternative route is available via Rayne Hatch Wood Road, Halstead Road, Hugh Garrett, Lyons Hall Road, Woolmers Green Road, Kentish Farm Road and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 17th July 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Mill Lane/Guithavon Road, Witham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) & (Bridge Street/Newland Street, Witham) (Temporary Suspension of Weight Restriction) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order
:- To temporarily close that length of Mill Lane, Witham in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Newland Street to its junction with Guithavon Street a distance of approximately 93m.
- To temporarily close that length of Guithavon Road, Witham in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Mill Road for a distance of approximately 150m in a south westerly direction.
- To temporarily suspend the 7.5 Tonne weight restriction in that length of Bridge Street/Newland Street from the junction with Spinks Lane to the junction with Maldon Road as detailed in "The Essex County Council (Bridge Street & Newlands Street, Witham) (7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction) Order 2009" for the duration of the above closures only.
The closures are scheduled to commence on 4th August 2025 for 40 days (in phases) or where stated on a valid permit (ZP5011001411395/ZP5011001411369 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.
An alternative route is available via Highfields Road, Spinks Lane, Bridge Street, Newland Street, Collingwood Road and vice versa (with access only into Guithavon Way and Guithavon Road).
The Order came into effect on 17th July 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
